There They Go...Again!
Every season in Digimon it would apear that the writers find it nescasary to create
some character who has emotional and or family issues. Now granted this does add a
touch of realism to the show; however when they go and pull a character's "issues"
out of their arses and toss it in towards the end of the season expecting all Digimon
fans to accept it- well thats just wrong.
In season01 Matt was the emotionally challenged and depraved digidetined. We witnessed
his problems from the beginging and saw him out grow them. This was acceptable.
Then suddenly the writers throw in Sora with a "boo hoo no one loves me story"
that is suposed to melt our hearts. Sorry wrong answer, lets see whats behind
door number two. In season 02 towards the end they attempted to have some of the
new DD's develop "issues" luckily they dropped that idea real fast. And so we all
thought the
writers had learned their lesson about shoving crap where it just plain isn't wanted.
But then there was Juri Kato.
Through out the season of Tamers Juri has been very proud of her family and
especially their little milkshake business, yet suddenly upon her return
we have an emotionally abussive father thrown into the foray. What is up with this?
Before the Tamers' return she had no emotional problems so to speak of (unless
you wanna count the puppet) and yet suddenly fans are left wondering if a repeat
of the "boo hoo no one loves me" story is about to come into play.
I for one hope not to see a repeat of this, and yet I know if the writers of
Digimon Tamers dont want to get off their lazy arses and come up with something
original, then the series is no doubt doomed to repeat history...Again.
