MSN Communities no Baka.

As many know I currently have two sites which I update and maintain regulary (or at least try to). Some of you may even remember that Darkness Wave was first hosted at communities, before I transfered it here to geocities. I have even gotten questions such as "Why do you have your Matt site at communities and Darkness Wave at geocities?" Back then the answer was simple, communities did not limit how much space your site really took up since it was suposedly a "community" and because with out my true awareness DMYIP had gone from a simple little Matt shrine to rabid fan girl site, to full of my insanity to move it.

At the Time however I saw no need to move DMYIP, it was fairly popular, and the "album" system that communities supplied had helped to better store my many pics. And then tragedy struck, communities shut down for weeks on end to "update their system" yet when they came back on line there where more problems then ever before, graphics froze, text was eaten and images where broken, not to mention numerous files lost. And them as DMYIP began to fall into disprepair vultures descended upon the unsighlyt remains, scavenging and leaving everything to waste. These vultures took the guise of hackers, Jun fans non-the less and took great pleasure in telling me that my poor child was now desecreated.

And so I began the tedious job of restoring it to its former glory, and again the evil fiends would ravish the site. Slowly it bacame apparent that something had to be done, what however was the question. Finally after restoring most of my site I began to feel that DMYIP would be back on its own two feet again, then communities dropped the bombshell. DMYIP was to big, it contained far to amny files and was suposedly taking away from others, how they would not explain, instead they insited that DMYIP be shrunken down to size, but yet they would not allow me to make updates to the site. Needless to say I had come to a conclusion, either ditch the site or move it. I chose to move it, and that I hope will amke all the difference. Despite communities atempts to dispose of me and my ilk, DMYIP still remains and shall continue to prosper. And what is the point of this rant this vexation? To simply forwarn anyone who is even considering using communities for the lowliest of site tasks.

Communities is not worth the time and effort, they limit your capabilities by dictating what HTML and JAVA codes you can and can not use. They repeatedly loose and delete files, and basically give all their users heart attacks. Do not make the mistake I made do not trust them with your sites, files or anything.
