Some Quick Information

So who here is responsible for this menagerie?

That would be me. Salutations, my name is Joana (pronounced: jo-ah-nah although everyone insists upon saying it as jo-anne-na). I am a [MY_AGE] year old female with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a double minor in Forensic Science and Anthropology from New Mexico State University. Where and what do I see myself doing in the future, you ask? Heck, even I don’t know.

I truly enjoy reading and I am very outspoken and opinionated about the books I read. This lead to the creation of my book review and literary news blog The Symposium. Truth be told, I’m a fiction reader. Primarily I read books in the Horror, SciFi, and Fantasy genres as I think reading should allow you the ability to escape from reality to collect yourself. I do enjoy reading biographies, memoirs, autobiographies, historical works (as well as historical fiction), and true crime. In all honesty I’ll read just about anything you put in front of me though.

Not only am I a self-admitted bookworm, I’m a big anime fan as well. I’m not much for most shoujo anime and manga series. They tend to be the anime-equivalent of chick flicks and can put me to sleep in under five minutes. I do, however, love mecha, shonen, action, and fantasy series. Some of my favorite series include: Digimon, Gundam Wing, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden, Claymore, Ouran High School Host Club, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Heroic Age just to name a few.

I have been active in the online community now since 1998. I’ve hosted a number of sites but my longest lived sites are two fanshrines and my own personal site Nanashi-Inc.net (formerly called just Nanashi). I’ve been blogging since 2003, although I only became a consistent blogger towards the end of 2006. Initially my book reviews were hosted here on Nanashi as well, however, I found that by handling it in that manner I didn’t update nearly as often as I wanted to. Hence, the birth of The Symposium.

I am a fan of many things, and as a result, I own and run multiple fanlistings. All of my fanlistings are listed at my fanlisting collective Fanatic Otaku. I also run two hatelistings which can be found there as well.
