No Treat for You!
February 28, 2005
There are few things in this world that royaly piss me off, being lied to though is one of the top three ways to piss me off.

Unlike other sites I do not require that people sign my guest book or whatever in order to win one of my awards, I do like to see that you actually visted the site for the sake of seeing my site and just dropping in and applying for my awards without a concern or second thought about the site. I ask on the award'f form if you signed the guest book so that I will look at it (if you have) so that I can read your comments, otherwise I might see your comments for weeks/months on end. But if you deliberately lie to me just for the sake of increasing your chances for an award you will automatically negate any chance you had for an award.

If you dont want to sign my guest book thats fine, click the "no" button where it asks if you've signed the guest book. I wont hold it against you. I PREFER HONESTY! But clicking "yes" or "no, but I will" and then not doing it pisses me off. I do not appreciate ass kissers or liers and that is essentially what two people did yesterday when they applied for Nanashi's awards. I do NOT give out awards to liars and brown nosers. I am not a piece of toast, do not try buttering me up, nor was I born yesterday.

People who lie to me automatically negate any chance of an award they had. I can not stress this enough. To those who applied, you know who you are, you may re-apply and I will visit your sites and determine if they deserve the respective award(s) they applied for. This transgression will not be held against you. If you spam/flame me, remember what thou givest returnith to thee times three. And of course if you lie again after I was so nice as to give you a second chance, you'll regret that as well.

OMFG! Royal Wedding Disastor Snubed!
February 23, 2005
Okay I hadn't even heard about this till today, apparently Prince Charles is going to marry the marriage wrecker Camilia Parker Bowles! To top it off the wedding will not take place on the Windsor grounds as is the norm but rather at the Register's office. A disgrace for the British family no doubt, but thats not why I'm writing about this in my journal. The Queen is SNUBBING the wedding! Ha hah! She is refusing to attend the service, and rightly so I think. I cant help but ask one question though, what the hell do the young princes think? Daddy's marrying the whore that helped wreck yur parent's marriage kiddies!

After everything that happened back in '97 and all the scandals and sorid details that hit the papers and made books I'd think Charles would have a little better taste than that to marry his mistress. Hell he cant even marry her in the normal standards that monarchs normally carry out their weddings. Their marriage is a commoner's marriage and his own "mummy" (he still calls her that aparently) is snubbing him for it. Prince Charles wake up. Your mummy was never too fond of Diana yet here she is clearly saying that Diana was the better of the two (she attended that wedding after all) so what the hell does that tell you about your precious "Camilia"?

Gah! The woman's name wants to make me gag.

On a more important note the new layout is going up today. I've gotten two reviews, one of which was exceptionaly helpful so I'm tearing down this one and up shall come v8.0: Go Mean Green!

FireFox vs. Internet Explorer
February 21, 2005
I have had Mozilla Firefox 1.0 installed on my computer for two weeks now.

I dont see what the big deal is. Its supposed to be safer than viewing with IE 6.0, in actual its safety is equal to that of the optimized AOL browser and IE with Windows XP. All three will block pop ups and minor viruses. A friend and I put the browsers to the test using the computer lab's computers on campus - why wreck our own? Anyway we uploaded a virus of his creation (dont ask, I sure as hell dont) to an NMSU sponsered website and Mario set it up so that who ever accessed the site by clicking a link from another site was infected once the page fully loaded. The virus was encrypted in a javascript pop up and even though all three browsers blocked the popup they also all froze up. A computer scan later showed that the three computers we were using were all infected with the virus. Conclusion, all three web browsers have a long way to go baby.

We did not subject Netscape to the test because it is inferior in all aspects. AOL was thrown in for the hell of it, and because one of lab tech's computers had it on there. You didn't think we used my computer for the AOL test did you? Sorry, mine is still too unstable after the worm it got infected with last year. Firefox and IE were used because those seem to be the browsers everyone is fighting about. Mario is a Firefox fan, I myself prefer Internet Explorer.

For two weeks now I've had Firefox on my computer, there are so many websites which dont load right; commercial, personal, the list goes on. Most of the basic scripts used in IE dont work or look right in Firefox, frankly the only browser thats worse is Netscape. Now while Firefox isn't nearly that bad, I dont see how its the "best web browser yet". Firefox has quite a way to come yet before it can replace Internet Explorer.

I wil still attempt to make sure my future layouts work at least somewhat in Firefox, as I have in the past for Netscape. But if it dosn't look right or nearly as nice as it should all I have to say to that is surf the net with IE and shut up. There is a reason why the majority of people design with IE in mind, its the one thats used the most because it has the most capabilities just deal with it. I apologize if this sounds exceptionally snotty but I am so tired of people who bitch and moan about not designing sites with Mozilla/Fire Fox in mind; and if this comment offends you its probably because you are one of those people.

Yappari!
February 19, 2005
Just as expected, this weekend is finally semi-relaxing. Last weekend, despite it being my birthday I couldn't really relax because I knew I had to get all this studying done if I was to have any guilt-free fun on Saturday evening. But this weekend is different and for that I am grateful.

I feel like a teeny-bopper again. When I first started out on the net everyone liked to go to these "wedding shrines" and get married to their favorite anime characters. There were some shrines that dealt with Ators and characters from movies and TV but I was an obsessed little fangirl of Digimon so guess what shrines I went to? Hell I even owned one at one point ^^' Scary ne? Anyway I "married" Yamato Ishida at a bunch of different shrines and still have some of the certificates on his fanshrine, but yesterday I was browsing the anipike out of nostalgia and I saw a new temple up and I had to go for old time's sake.

click on the image for the full scale version. Wanna go get married? go here!

I feel so old, although I'm not really. I remember when the Anipike was this one helpful site to get your site listed at (there wasn't a plethora of Listings back then) and all the anime fans knew of the site and that was it. Now the Anipike has been featured in newspapers, magazines, and has gwon to large proportions. Every where you look there are bunches upon bunches of Listings to get your site listed at, five years ago this sure wasn't the case. Wait, I've been building sites for that long? Damn it dosn't feel like its been that long but yeah come to think of it my first website attempt was MMMP at msn communities (dont they call them msn groups now?) in '98 or was it '99? Wow I've come along way baby. o.O' Rinky dink communities pages to my own domain.

Okay, off the semi-saddening topic...and onto worse ones. I've got to go in to work at the Pan Am tonight, security again, then after I get out of there I have to go to work at Athletics to take of the laundry and uniforms from today's games (men and women's basketball and baseball) I'm going to end up being there till at least 1am. Good thing? I get to see the new episode of Full Metal Alchemist on a big screen in suround sound. You must always look for the silver linning in storm clouds my friends. I'm just glad my math class tomorrow isn't till 1pm - gives me time to sleep in.

How Rude
February 15, 2005
I am still so pissed off at the shit that happened in class today. Okay last week the in class work my group did wasn't all that compared with everyone else's so this week the teacher (Sperling) decided to "punish" the ones who weren't working by moving them around the classroom. I got moved to the front oof the classroom right in front of his damn podium so he can watch me. I wasn't even doing anything! It was Valerie and I who did the research that the idiot presented, he and the girls next to him didn't do anything yet we got punished. And of course he refuses to hear any "whinning". I mean come on I've gotten perfect hundreds on my quizes (and Valerie too) all the others back there keep missing at least 4 or 5 questions, usually more. Who is obviously paying attention in class and studying? Its not them! That ass didn't even bother to evaluate the situation he just assumed that because we were talking and they weren't that they were working and we were not, when in actual we were trying to help each other since no one else was helping us and they were fiddling around with other stuff. Hell one of them had been doing her work for another class while we worked. I hate being humiliated and made fun of, especially when I'm not even the one to blame.

21 at Last
February 13, 2005
I'm 21!! Yesterday was my birthday and so obviously I am now 21 at last. My mom thought we should of course celebrate this day in a special way so she took me out to eat at Pelican's. Great food (outrageous prices) I felt so bad when I saw our bill came out to around $70 but she just shrugged and whipped out a wad of cash. o.O!

Anyway, it was weird being able to walk up to the bar and order a drink (after being carded) and drinking at the bar. I ended up just having a couple of Pina Coladas and then after dinner I ordered an Irish Coffee. Now that was some strong whiskey. After dinner I was taken out to Sunlad Park Race Track and Casino. Obviously I've never been to a Casino before so that was definately something to see. I won some money back and even though I had fun I dont really see why people like going to casinos and can spend all their time there. The place was so loud and crowded, but some of the people were downright funny!

I got a kick out of how many people would scramble forward to claim a seat once it was vacated or would stand in line behind other manchines for hours on end just because it was the nickle slots. There was actually a man playing the slots whom I overheard say to his wife that he had nearly fainted earlier because he hadn't eaten anything that day. But the guy didn't even get up to go get something to eat and neither did his wife, they just kept playing. People are scary.

Well now that I'm finally 21 this was my last birthday to keep track of. Its all downhill from this point on so I dont want to know how old I'm getting.

Now Here's A Concept That Just Might Work!
February 3, 2005
I've had an epiphany! You see I'm kind of already bored with the new layout, what can I say orange has never been my thing. Purple, black, red even blue - yes. But orange? No not even, hell despite my car's color being "burnt orange" its more of a copper rust thing rather than orange. Dont beleive me? Check out my car, specifically the one called Pyro. Not your typical orange is it? Well I love this layout's design, its simple and easy to navigate just the way I like a layout to be but the color scheme is already getting on my last nerve. I cant even fathom why I chose those colors. I remember thinking "how about something a lil different" but this? Anyway this will definately be the shortest lived layout in Nanashi's history. I might scrap the color scheme, keep the layout structure and pick a new theme and color code or . . .

Here's where I mention my epiphany:

I'll just design a new layout with something that you dont see very often on personal sites. Now why this is I cant begin to fathom but . . . . instead of alyout featuring some overly advertised celebrity or popular anime character how about ME! Yes you read right, a layout featuring yours truly, Joana Rodriguez as the focal point.

Its actually already in the works ^_^

I'm using a couple of images from my photo album and my favorite color (black) among some others. It might be awhile before I have the time to sit there and code the layout out what with school and all but the graphics are done and the plan is in my head and sketched out on paper so perhaps the layout will be up in a month or so. Definately no latter than my Spring Break - after all a whole week off would be the perfect time to catch up on the web-stuff.

What do you all think? Good idea or the worst of mine to date?

21 in 10 Days!
February 2, 2005
Ten days and counting till I hit the big 2-1. Ah to be 21 at last, then its all down hill from there. This will probably be the last year that I celebrate my birthday. Its sad really but the only other year I was hyped up for my birthday was when I turned 18, yet it wasn't all that great of a year so maybe I'm just setting myself up for a fall by expecting this birthday to be worthwhile.

I had one of the highest scores in my Psychology class on our first exam but the grade was definately nothing to write home about, a 73 which is just a C. No one got an A and only one person got a B. Most people in fact flunked the exam. At least though I had a reasonable excuse for my porr grade. I registered for that class late and as a result didn't get to attend the first class in which sadly the teacher covered a shitload of material. I also dont know anybody in that class and so I couldn't wrangle anybody's notes from them. Nobody wants to part with their notes till the next week we have class. So yeah, missed a lot of shit that was on the exam that wasn't in the book and was covered that first day.

Here's the real kicker though, there was supposed to be only 5 short answer questions. Instead there were ten, I was so not prepared for that. Our paper on a nmenotic device is due this Friday, it'll be pretty much graded on creativity so here's hoping mine is fairly original.

Well I have to sign off now, I've got to get ready for work but I'll definately be back later tonight or at the least sometime tomorrow.
