Its been awhile since I've had the chance to post something here, but today just deserves nottation. I've been juggling one full time time job, two part time jobs, and a full schedule at NMSU this semster (last semester was only the full time job and one part time job ~_^) and I've been getting a lot of negative criticism about it. Snide comments about how poor I must be if I have to work so much and then there have been those that are just waiting for me to fail, waiting for me to fuck up so bad I've either got to quit a few jobs or drop out of school.
Several of my own friends have even hinted that maybe I've bitten off too much this time and that I should lighten my load while I still can. In short only a handful of people REALLY believe I can survive this schedule of mine without falling flat on my face.
I had my first mid term on Monday, and in one of my more difficult classes to boot; East Asian History. The class seems easy enough but the sheer work load is what kills you. Anyway I got my mid term back today and out of a possibly 100pts I got . . . a 102! Yes, I even got the extra credit to boot!
I'm very proud of myself as I see this as proof that I can handle and excel at whatever I put my mind to. This IMO was the final proof I needed and the extra boost I needed as well, because even though I believed in myself I still had nagging doubts that maybe everyone was right and that I had bitten off more than I could handle. I've got something now to look back to whenever the comments begin to get too much, something to remind myself that I am capable.
Current Grades as of March 3, 2004:
Music Appreciation 101 - 86%
East Asian History - 98%
Japanese 112 - 82%
Criminal Law 205 - 81%
They're not the best of grades and I do have one cake course to help lightne my load (Music) but my grades are staying steady and my GPA is improving ^_^ I might even be able to apply for Crimson Scholar again!
This week has been a little rougher because I've had to put in over time at Sav-O-Mat plus I had to pull a graveyard shift on Tuesday night in addition to my usual Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts and a swing-shift (2pm-10pm) shift on Monday plus my History Mid Term, Japanese quiz on Monday and Japanese exam on Tuesday but luckily Wednesday and Thursday night I have off so I have a bit of time recuperate and relax before I pick up my usual grave yard shifts on the weekend. Next week should be interesting as I have another mid term as well.
Since we have a new girl now and we SHOULDN'T be short on help next week I should be able to get into my usual routine without having to cover the extra shifts atop my school and work schedules for my other jobs as well.
Alright, I feel better now after ranting and patting my self on the back. ^_^ I'll be back on Monday to let everyone know how I made it through the week, for now theres a juicy steak sitting next to me that craves being eaten.
