Alright well to say the least I've had one shitty weekend so far. I went in to work on Saturday and what do you know my co-worker is being NICE to me not snotty anymore. Warning bells were going off in my head but instead I just shrug it off and continue doing the shift change, When I look up the manager is there along with the manager from bradleys' and her daughter (who isn't even an employe at either store) and Roseanne. Karen decided to have me written up for some bogus charges of not delivering messages from her to my manager (Michelle) and selling Prime Times to a thirteen year old. I was then told to sign the the reprimand and I would be put on a little probation period, end of subject.
I knew I hadn't sold any prime times to no thirteen year old let alone failed to deliver messages (though that isn't part of my job description) because I hadn't received any messages from Karen to Michelle. Of course I resigned on the spot and handed in my resignition. Now today I go in to get my pay check because this is our usual pay day and their withholding my check because I resigned on them! GAWD I want to kill something. This is all still stemming from karen's little meeting she had with us and I refused to continue working for free.
We had another girl quit on us now normally this isn't so bad however corporate sent word that NO ONE could get over time. Now if I'm only working weekends that leaves Russ and Donna to work all week long obviously getting over time. So I was asked to pull a forty-hour week where I came in early to relieve Donna to keep her from getting overtime yet couldn't clock in for another hour. Turn around and the same shit had to be repeated the following week. Hell I had to even pull double shifts ontop of going to school as well. Needless to say I was dead on my feet.
I was accused of not being a team player because I stated that I could no longer do these 40hr weeks. I reminded everyone that when i applied and was hired I signed on to be a PART TIME worker only. Everyone knew school came first and were SUPOSEDLY cool with it. I took into consideration that they needed the help and so I agreed that every weekend I worked the graveyard shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then went to classes on Monday after I got off work. I stated at the meeting that this working for free thing had to stop and that corporate would have to consent to overtime for Donna and Russ because I could not pick up the slack anymore, for crying out loud finals are coming up and I was and still am behind in school.
Basically I got bitched at by the district supervisor and MY manger stood there and kissed her ass and acted buddy-buddy with her yet as soon as she was gone she was "oh I'm so sorry she was upset with you Joana" yet she wouldn't defend me and say something as simple as "hey, you're yelling at my worker who is remianing calm about this. You need to calm down as well ma'am". In fact no one came to my defense I was just left to hang on my own. And for the rest of that week everyone treated me like I had the plague. Hence why I had my resignition ready. I just had this horrible feeling the shit was about to hit the fan.
Hell when I was given the write-up and ordered to sign it Michelle admitted outloud that she knew I hadn't done any of these things and Karen was doing this to punish me. She KNOWS yet she wont defend me? She'll just cover her ass and leave me to hang? FUCK her I'm going to the department of labor on Monday and we'll see who the hell is left handing then.
Oh and the shits of it to boot. When I went to get my check Michelle refused to give it me and even had to call Bradleys and talk to their manager before doing as I requested and call Karen since supposedly they were holding my check on her orders. While I'm waiting she tells me that Quietta (Bradely's manager) told me to wait outside the store out in front. I said okay and stood out there for a few minutes before I had a gut feeling that told me "set up" get out of there. Why? They were trying to set me up for loitering and being an irate ex-employee. I was gone before anything could happen but believe me, I was seriously pissed off after I realized what they were trying to do.
