This has been an awesome year for me concert-wise. Back in June I got to see two artists who are on my bucket list of “must see live before I die”, one of which was even in the top 5, and tonight I got to see a band who is high up on that list as well – BLONDIE!! And, to top it off, I got to spend the evening with my Mom celebrating her birthday with good music too. Totally a win-win situation.
My mom’s birthday is actually on Thursday, but she is a major Blondie fan. So when I heard they were coming to El Paso, TX I had to snap up some tickets as soon as they went on sale. So Mom got her birthday present early this year. I got her a collectible tin with Blondie on it and it had six discs chock full of their songs. Then of course, we went to the concert, and I got her a t-shirt. It was awesome seeing her so excited and acting like a kid. She really enjoyed herself, which given all the headaches some of her customers and my grandfather have been giving her, is a miracle in and of itself.
Blondie performed at the Plaza Theater in El Paso, TX earlier this evening. The performance was billed as “An Evening with Blondie” because, even though it was part of their No Principals tour, they didn’t have an opening band. That’s right, it was all Blondie all night long. Hell yeah!
Even better, while they did play some of their new songs, they played a ton of their older songs and almost all of my favorites got played too.

I can’t remember all of the songs played right now. Silly me, I didn’t start writing them down until late in the show. By then I had some blanks in my memory. I’ll fill in the blanks later if I can remember or find someone who has the complete setlist! The complete setlist is now up!
