Of Moldy Towels and Towel Thieves

I’m not really sure how we missed them, but a couple of the towels we used to sop up the water that flooded the bathroom and hallway floor when a pipe under the sink busted last week. Since I already planned on doing laundry today I thought I’d take them with me.
These guys are definitely going in a machine of their own and will be getting several washes. They’re still damp and smell moldy to boot. I wish we had one of those pressure washers that you can use to clean the sides of your house. I’d hang the towels up outside and just fire away before giving them a couple of spins in the washing machine. Truth be told, if there actually are mold spots on them (I’m afraid to look) they may just end up becoming rags.
Speaking of towels, when I got out of the shower this morning I had two towel thieves to contend with. I’m used to Denali stealing my towel no matter where I leave it: if it’s on the rack she’ll pull it down, on the sink or closed toilet seat she’ll lay on it, but today was different. Denali knocked it down, yes, but she wasn’t on it. Instead Denali was sitting next to it watching as a BIG FAT wolf spider made itself comfortable. The spider wasn’t that large, length-wise, compared to others I’ve seen, but boy was it fat.
I knocked the spider off, shook out my towel to avoid any nasty surprises and dried off pronto. I wanted to get a photo of the spider but I half expected it to be long gone by the time I came back. Strangely enough, when I came back ten minutes later I was able to find the spider easily enough. He was once again perched on my towel which was now hanging back on the rack. Can you say towel thief?
I decided I would take a load of towels today as well so that I could wash my towel. It seemed sullied after this incident.

Wow, that spider really likes your towel! Good thing you didn’t dry off with it still on! Might have a few nice bites.
I’m okay around a lot of different spiders but yikes. That wolf spider is too much for me!
Yikes, my wife would absolutely flip if she saw that spider. Then, she would come yelling to me to take care of it.
