Good News Bad News Time

The week has barely begun and already I’m getting a headache.
Good News
Our hours for this and the rest of January are set, we’re working from 4pm to 9pm and no one else will be set home early either.
Bad News
Thus far it would appear that the morning shift, which is still growing in size and dwarfs our evening shift, is still sucking up all the hours so we’re not actually staying until 9pm. Last night we got out at 8:30pm. Monday they stayed the whole shift, but then again, they did loose 45 minutes to a business meeting where they had to go over company policies again.
Good News
I’m looking to get a job over at the Dona Ana Detention Center. A friend works there and is going to put in a good word for me. With my qualifications I won’t be a C.O. either but possibly an office job. Sweet. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Bad News
Pyro died. Well, at least that’s what it feels like. Was all dressed to go to work yesterday, got in the car, stuck the key in the ignition and….nothing. Since the lights, dashboard, radio, and horn all worked, I figured it wasn’t the battery. Hooked up the charger just to be safe, battery charger said the battery was fully charged. Put some graphite on my key and stuck it in the ignition to give it another try, no go. So it’s not the ignition and probably not the starter either. Considering Pro’s mileage is over 105,000+ it could very well be the timing belt. Alternator is a possibility. Then again, there could just be a short somewhere too.
Good News
I got paid yesterday so I have a paycheck to deposit.
Bad News
It’s smaller, a hell of a lot smaller, than previous checks on account of the cut hours and drop in sales we’re experiencing. Next week’s check will be even lower sadly.
It’s barely Wednesday and already I’m wishing I could runaway to one of those Outer Banks rentals thingies and forget my worries. Of course, I’m also kind of wishing that we’d fine oil in our backyard or something too.

Well I’m crossing my fingers for you that you get that other job. Wow, so sad that you got Pyro back so recently and now he’s sick again
I hope it’s nothing too difficult (or expensive) to fix.
