We irrigated the field the other day, and only after we irrigated, did we noticed that the fruit on one of the peach trees are looking very ripe. So in an effort to get the peaches before insects or birds gobble them up first. Somebody (not sure who) wadded through the mud and picked a bucket-full of them. They apparently decided to sit down on the outdoor furniture and clean their shoes before coming in.

Unfortunately, despite seeing the bowel of peaches in the kitchen, I didn’t stop to think that there would be mud underneath the outdoor furniture and on the sidewalk. In retrospect that was silly of me, I really should have expected mud to have accumulated where none should be. It would be utterly rude to leave it where someone wouldn’t step in it after all.

In any case, after stepping on a slick patch of mud (and sliding oh so gracefully I might add) I made it to the patio, sat down on a chair, and began setting up my laptop up outside. Only to feel a large amount of something squishy making its way between my toes. A glance down confirmed that I had stepped into an even bigger pile of mud. I was grateful it was mud though and not the first thing that crossed my mind. Either way, my nice suede sandals were now completely caked and nasty. I spent half an hour carefully cleaning them before setting them out to dry.

I made one fatal mistake though, I left my laptop and most importantly my drink unattended. I returned in time to see Isis jump onto the table and topple my drink over. Who would have thought I could run so fast or scream so loud? I’m fairly certain the neighbors…a mile down the road…thought someone was being murdered. Thankfully I reached the laptop before the ice tea had a chance to reach it.

And what did the culprit have to say for herself?

As you can see, Isis put on her best “I’m cute!” face and completely failed to look repentant.
