A Short, Over the Limit, and a Change of Plans

I got to pick up Pyro today. My car was actually ready yesterday evening, but since I was alaready at work, I picked it up today. Turns out that the reason Pyro wasn’t starting is because there was a short. The short was connected to the fuse and the car’s dome light. Basically, even when the dome light wasn’t on it was “running” which was draining the battery and playing havoc with the wiring. Hence why everything seemed to work but the car wouldn’t start.

So in any case, that’s all fixed now. Which is awesome because it is just so weird to be driving other people’s vehicles. I always feel uncomfortable and paranoid in my grandfather’s truck.

While there was a bit of a bright spot today there was sadly some rain on my parade as well. Bank of America took forever and a day to clear a payment which messed me up. You see, I made the payment last week but it only cleared yesterday. Well, since it should have cleared last week, when I looked at my balance I calculated that I had enough money to make a payment to Verizon as well. Turns out I didn’t because the amount for B.O.A hadn’t cleared yet. So when it cleared I got a negative balance and over limit fees on my account. :grr: The protection covered the payment regardless, but I still had fees.

I wasn’t aware of any of this happening until I deposited my check today and noticed that my available balance wasn’t even as much as I had just deposited. So much for getting ahead. Yare, yare. I suppose it’s a good thing that my expenses really aren’t that crazy and that I get paid weekly. No high priced purchases for me and I have to be careful how much gas I waste too this week. What’s worse is that next’s week pay will be from last week’s earnings. And as you all know, last week I missed work a couple of days because of Pyro. On top of that my sales sucked to boot. This means I have one shitty check coming to me next week.

So, I’m guessing I that I shall be canceling my plans to look at some furniture this weekend. I’ve been checking prices on tv stands in the hopes of getting a new one to replace the one I have currently, as it’s just big enough. I have the dvd and vcr sitting on the floor in front of it due to lack of space. The stand I have was never meant to hold a 20-inch television, vcr, dvd player, and stereo. I was really hopping for one that would hold all of the toys as well as have some room for dvds. Guess that will just have to wait now.

I’m glad you got your car back safe and sound. Electrical problems like that are bleh. Anyway, that sucks about payment clearing. That’s why I keep my checkbook balancer thing up to date so I always know how much money is actually in my account because the amount shown online is never right since it takes a while for bills to clear.

First I think it is awesome that you have a name for your car. Pyro is a good slytherin car name I think. I know what you mean about driving in other people’s cars. They just “feel” different, is how I put it.

Looks like I am not alone when I say I abhor bank transactions. It funny, because you will think that given that banks are around for centuries already, they should have perfected the art of giving service fast to people. I mean not to mention the technology which should be making things easier to manage too.

Oh well, I hope you exhibit more patience than I do. I am just sucky at waiting.
