Wrong and Not Fair on Many Levels

Here I am working my butt off to get back into shape, bicycling, exercising, taking walks, eating healthier (although I am still slipping in some junk food here and there) and for what? My mother, whose eating habits are worse than mine, is the one losing weight while I managed to gain a few more pounds. I must say: What The Hell?!
This morning she was complaining about how some of her blouses had gotten so baggy on her that one could be forgiven for mistaking them for maternity clothes. In retrospect my jeans are a bit tighter than they used to be. Somehow I’m building up muscle tone, but I’m not loosing weight yet. Rather, I loose a few pounds, then they crawl right back.
How is this even possible?

Losing weight is seemingly impossible heh. It sucks that your Mom is losing without doing anything and you’re working so hard, but with time your efforts should show some kind of progress. You can do it! (So can I, right?)
I can relate from Mom’s point of view. Rest assured, she is jealous of your muscle tone. As you probably know..skinny without muscle is not as attractive as a few more solid and toned pounds (I am embarassed of skinny saggy skin…wish I had the shape that muscle gives.) Time for me to hit the gym too!!
