Update on Shizuku

Right now my grandfather has taken Shizuku to the vet to get his ear checked out. Since I only own a car, and he has a truck, it was decided that he would be the best person to take him. Shizuku isn’t too fond of riding in the backseat of a car and he’s especially not fond of visiting the vet either. In order to get him safely to the vet, without too much of a fight, it was decided that letting Shizu ride in the bed of the truck, like he likes, was the better option. At least he wouldn’t be a mess of nerves on the way up and it wouldn’t take an hour to get him into the car either.
So I’m here waiting for some news on Shizuku’s condition. I suspect that some stitches will be involved, poor baby, but that he’s going to have that chunk missing regardless. The best the vet can probably do is to make sure no complications arise.
As for the perpetrators, they’ve gone bye-bye. Animal control arrived yesterday evening. After explaining what had happened, showing him Shizuku’s wound, and that Shizuku was clearly on his property where he belonged, I showed him the pictures on my digital camera of the two pitbulls in our yard with no owners in sight and fighting with our dogs. The injury combined with the pictures left no doubt which dogs were in the wrong. Apparently someone else reported his dogs doing similar acts. The guy always got out of it though because there was no real evidence, animal control never caught the dogs off his yard and he does have a fence. However, with the photos showing them clearly where they have no business that didn’t fly.
They’re not going to tell him who exactly his dogs attacked, just that there were photos of the attack and that one dog was injured because of them, and will be removing the two dogs that are in the picture. They can’t do anything about the other pitbulls he has, but he is apparently being put on some sort of probationary watch of sorts. Any other reports come in and they’ll be taking all of his dogs. I think they’re also going to do an inspection of sorts, but that’s mainly because it’s been shown that the man’s dogs are violent and that anyone who has that many pitbulls in one place in suspicious.

I’m so glad to hear your photos were enough proof to get that guy in trouble and take those two terrible dogs away. Man! Poor sweet Shizu. Hopefully just being on that probation watch list gets the other dogs taken away too. If he can’t control his animals, he doesn’t need to have any.
I was hoping that having proof would get them taken. People like him don’t need to have animals. Grrrrr. Is there any way you can easily make that guy pay for Shizuku’s vet costs?
I hope the rest of that man’s dogs get taken away! Really, somebody with that many pitbulls does seem suspicious. I’m glad your photos were enough to incriminate him and his stupid dogs.
