Social Spark Now Live

The newest innovation from Izea is out of alpha testing and available to the public to join in on. Yes that’s right, I’m talking about SocialSpark.
Initially the site was extremely sluggish, seemingly bogged down with all of the applications running on the site, but it has improved greatly since my initial visit to the site. The site is definately eye-catching and has the makings of a great social site. You can meet fellow bloggers, leave comments on bloggers and advertiser accounts, private message, and possibly most importantly, you can even take paid offers on the site. Because all links are fully disclosed and no followed you don’t even have to worry about a google penalty either since you’re not violating their terms.
So, who is using Social Spark? So far there seems to be quite a few people on SS. Even Daisy the Curly Cat is on Social Spark! Her blog is one of my favorite blogs to read so I had to link to her profile.
For me though, the jury is still out. I like the idea behind the site, but the dynamic pricing feels like a trap. I’m lured to an opportunity because the price and requirements seem reasonable, but the opp is usually fully reserved at that point. In this case, if the campaign is still running I can click to wait for a slot and should one open up I will have a slot reserved for me. Since joining I’ve only seen one offer that was open at the time and that I qualified for. All others I had to “wait for a slot”. However, when a slot is “reserved” for me it is almost always at a far lower price, due to the dynamic pricing. For example, an opportunity that was running at $20+ is now reserved for me at the price of $5.50, but the requirements remain the same. That feels like a slap in the face really and more often then not I have to pass.
Of course, since these offers are reserved for 12 hours only and the reservations are created at midnight (Florida time which is two hours ahead of me) by the time this non-morning person finds them in her inbox they’ve expired or I don’t have the time to complete them.
Since, as I’ve mentioned, I haven’t been able to take hardly any offers with them I am also discouraged to see that they do not payout on a regular interval. Rather you can opt to “cash out” after you have a minimum of $20 in your account and, from what I understand, like their other venture, you are not eligible for payment for that post until 30 days after. Meaning it can be a long time until you see your money if you’re not able to make a decent amount.
I could be wrong about the 30 day part though. I’m not sure since their Terms of Service neglects to specify when payments will be paid out and how.
Sponsored.

I joined Social Spark but have yet to be able to get any of my blogs approved. They seem not to want to approve them, with reasons ranging from not enough posts in the last 90 days, to my blog not being old enough in the first place. *sigh*
I too am still out on whether or not Social Spark is actually going to be worth it. Time will tell I suppose.
Hmm I’m not keen on deals like that anymore. I simply lack the motivation to do sponsored posts. I used to do blog for profit and even earned almost the whole amount for my flight ticket to Madrid and see my ex boyfriend *tee-hee* But then yeah Google came around the corner and well … nahhh. Hahaha~ it could be interesting for other people who might want to monotize their blog :] Thanks for sharing!
