Shizuku Tortured! Cruel Neighbor Dogs!

To say that I am not a happy camper right now would be the understatement of the century. I am beyond livid, in fact I’m downright homicidal and pissed off. I have never wanted to actively hurt another animal as I wanted to today.
I was in the kitchen, fixing myself a snack since I was getting hungry and I’d already eaten breakfast at an ungodly 5am when there was a cacophony of barks and howls coming from the backyard and kitchen. The kitchen area I immediately attributed to my mother’s dog, Big Momma (who is anything but). At first I thought someone was riding a bike outside or something, as that gets the dogs riled up, but then I realized I heard too many different barks, yips, and howling coming from the backyard where Shizuku was.
When I got out there, it was to find Shizuku being pinned down by two other dogs, two pitbulls to be precise. By the time I got them off of Shizu and chased them away Shizu was already bleeding and favoring his back left paw. Stupid of me to interupt a dog fight, I know, but seeing Shizuku pinned like that when there was no way he could have even started the fight and hardly able to defend himself (chain)1 royally pissed me off. I’m just a teensy-bit ashamed to say that I was more than happy to deliver a swift kick in the rump to one of the dogs.
Shizuku has a visit to his vet planned out for tomorrow morning. His leg appears fine, so I think he just pulled a muscle. He’s walking fine now. What’s really got me pissed is that Shizuku is now sporting a hole in his ear. It almost looks like he had an earring pulled out. The wound is about the width of my index finger and half an inch in length. There’s this chunk missing out of my doggy’s ear and it’s all because of some bastard who can’t keep his dogs fenced up!
I’ve called animal control and reported the animals. They came back a little while ago, lingered in the yard trying to get near Shizuku again, but Big Momma was able to run them off. I managed to grab my camera and take a few pictures of the dogs in the yard and riling up Shizu and Big Momma again. I’ll show those and Shizu’s wound to animal control when they come. Hopefully they’ll take at least those two pitbulls (the man has eight).
I’ve cleaned his ear as best as I can, and placed some bag balm2 on it to prevent his wound from getting infected and to keep irritating insects away from it.

Oh gosh! Poor doggie. Wow how awful though. I probably would have shot those other dogs as mad as I would have been seeing my baby get attacked like that. Can you do a smaller fence in your yard? Like not the property line, but just a fenced in area that’s large enough for them to run around in but can keep others out?
Ugh! We have people in our area who let their dogs run loose too and it never fails to piss me off. I hope Animal Control takes the dogs from him.
I can’t believe that happened. Well, I can believe it, with pit bulls. They shouldn’t even be legal in my opinion. Horrible animals. I hope you get them taken away.
Don’t blame you for being livid. People who don’t care about their animals let them run wild. You sure were brave getting in the middle of those dogs.

I am so sorry about your dog! That is just crazy. Luckily the dogs didn’t turn and attack you. I wouldn’t feel bad one bit about giving them a swift kick in the rear. Whatever gets them to stop attacking!
Good choice using the bag balm. That stuff works wonders with everything, and it doesn’t sting. We always used it for our own cuts and scrapes, as well as pet wounds. Good luck with everything, and I hope those dogs get put down. Any dog that is a danger to other pets should not be tolerated.
