We got a fairly decent amount of rain yesterday. Of course, the rain didn’t fall until well after my grandfather had irrigated. Needless to say, this resulted in a lot of standing water. Shizuku didn’t mind, of course, since it meant that he could play in the water outside for a longer period of time. No amount of calling or pleading could get him to leave the freshly irrigated field until he was ready to. Then it rained, and Shizu was back to having fun. The cats looked at him like was insane, even my mom’s dog was looking at him as though she she had questions regarding the soundness of his mind.

I ended up resolving myself to the fact that he was just going to have his fun and no power on this earth would stop him until he was well and ready to stop. I was right.

Shizuku had all the fun he could handle yesterday and now he’s paying for it. As you can see (sort of) in the picture to your left, Shizuku has a bit of an eye cold today. His right-eye (viewer’s left) has some eye gook and he’s trying to shut it. That picture was taken after I’d already cleaned the gunk that had sealed his eye shut too. Poor baby is not pleased to be sick today.

While I am sympathetic to his plight, a part of me can’t help but to snicker at the irony. I’d probably be more sympathetic if I hadn’t spent an hour washing all of the mud he tracked all over the sidewalk and carport.
