Running Vague Errands

Don’t you just hate it when people ask you for a favor, give you the puppy-dog eyes, and then when you cave in, they give you the vaguest instructions and bolt? That’s what happened to me earlier. A friend got stuck working late today and asked if I could run an errand for them while we were catching a quick late lunch. I caved two seconds after the seeing the pouty lips and watery eyes.
I’m weak, I know.
So after my disappointing lack of resistance I was handed a small list of things the wielder of the puppy-eyes wanted. I should have looked at the list right then and there, but we were in the midst of settling the bill and skedaddling to our vehicles so she wouldn’t be late back to work. After I got into my car, I took a glance at the list and had a revelation. I was supposed to price and pick up a video card for her. That’s it.
What kind of video card? What capabilities was she looking for? What was her price range? None of that was mentioned. It took several minutes over the phone to wheedle out more specific details.
Could we have been any more vague in our request?
Don’t answer that.

Haha Joanana is so nice that she lets people give her a todo list and says ok. That does suck that your buddy there gave you a vague request. At least you were able to figure it out over the phone with asking the right questions.
Wow, you caved to the puppy eyes? Remind me to try that on you sometime. =P
Totally sucks that she wasn’t clear. I hate it when that happens, but oh well. At least it got done, no?
