At least that’s the impression I have right now.

I was in the restroom; I had just finished washing my face and was about to grab the hand towel by the sink to pat my skin dry when Denali decided to jump up onto the counter. Now normally I really don’t mind her jumping on the bathroom counter, it’s normal, and any morning she’s not beside me as I’m getting ready to start my day is a weird one. However, because of the assortment of beauty products strewn about the counter this morning (somebody forgot to put their stuff away last night!) I had my glasses sitting closer to the ledge than usual.

Denali jumped up onto the counter and plopped her rear down to supervise my morning ritual when something different happened. She flicked her tail and something got tangled in the fur. Now, there is nothing Denali hates worse then someone or something messing with her fluffy tail, and unfortunately for my eyeglasses, her long fur tangled briefly with nose piece and caught for all of two seconds before she gave her tail a powerful flick and sent them flying off the counter.

This wouldn’t be very frightening if the ledge in question wasn’t the one by toilet, whose lid was still up.

I swear, if they had fallen in (clean toilet or not) I would have refused to wear them ever again and would have gotten a new pair of eyeglasses pronto. Thankfully though, they miraculously bounced off the side of the bowel and fell to the ground at my feet.

It’s official, Lady Luck loves me but Denali hates me.
