Joining the Hordes of Shoppers

Alas, despite my best efforts to have all of my Christmas shopping done well in advance of Christmas, I’m afraid I’m going to have to be doing some last minute shopping tomorrow anyway. Can you imagine the madness I’m going to encounter shopping on Christmas Eve? What makes this worse is that I will have a very tight budget to buy some last minute gifts too. You see, our paychecks get sent via Fed Ex and, on account of the weather, did not arrive today. No checks to deposit tomorrow means less money in the bank to buy gifts with.
With the lack of funds I am definately making sure to get my last minute gifts from Kmart tomorrow. They have good products at great values so I’m hoping to find some great gifts at very low prices. Since a few of the Christmas gifts I purchased were in the car when I had the accident, and got subsequently smashed, I’m out a few gifts, namely my mom and grandfather’s. And since Kmart has an entire “collection” of roughly 25,000 potential gift-buys that will cost you less than $25 after, so I think I’ll be able to find something they’ll love.
My grandfather is easy to shop for, as I’m planning on getting him a new set of pajamas and maybe a dvd movie or two. You can never go wrong with any movie that has a lot of action and fighting when it comes to him. Mom is harder though, because she’s one of those “just make me a card, I don’t need anything” sorts. Books and movies are automatically out, with tax season coming up she won’t have any time to really enjoy them. Music is a possibility, but it’s an iffy one. Since tax season is coming up, and it can be stressful, not to mention she’s stuck at work for long hours, I thought some candles for her office would be nice. Specifically, I saw these embossed rose ones which I thought were lovely (see picture). I’d also like to get her a couple of those 15 oz jar candles from Langely Home. I think their lilac, English garden, and basil would smell just heavenly.
Now here’s hoping the shelves aren’t bare since I doubt I’m the only last-minute Christmas shopper.

Oh my, I have only gone out shopping on Christmas Eve twice in my entire life. *lol* And that was to go out with a friend to keep her company while she shopped. I always swore that I’d never spend my birthday in crazy crowds and traffic.
I usually start shopping in the Spring and never need to get much in December beyond stock stuffers. Hee hee!
I hope you enjoy your Christmas!
*despair
The candles look like a great idea! I hope you were able to pick up the gifts you needed!
