Imagine That: I Could Have Saved Money!

Did you know that my insurance company never had it in their system that my car was on a lien? Yup, in all the time that I’ve been paying it off they never had it in their system. Strangely enough, the bank that handled my lien never once even contacted me about not being insured or anything either. So they knew and had it in their system, even if my insurance company wasn’t reporting to them. Of course, if they weren’t reporting it, shouldn’t they have contacted me anyway?
You see, I finally have the title in hand, so I went up to pay my insurance and show them the title. It’s the one I’ll take to the DMV that shows the lien from Franklin Capital Corporation has been paid off. The agent was utterly bewildered because it wasn’t on the computer. Now, I knew that it had been taken off at one point, because when I asked if the bank I was with would allow me to drop the coverage to liability after I had reached a certain balance, one of the agents said it wasn’t showing a lien. She fixed it there in front of me, and informed me that I FCC would not allow that.
Well today, when I was there, the agent in charge went through the records and apparently my car was never marked as on a lien. To top it off the agent who was supposed to have reentered it, didn’t. This means they never knew I was on a lien - I could have had just liability instead of full coverage this entire time! Argh! Perfect oppurtunity to have saved money.
But oh well, it’s paid off and entirely mine now.

Gah that’s quite annoying that you could have saved all that money. But at least you had full coverage in case something happened.
