It’s early Sunday morning, and in true geek fashion I spent all of Saturday night downloading anime and playing on the computer. Sad, huh? Eh, it was fun though. I grabbed myself some food from Jack in the Box and then headed up to Las Cruces to camp out at a 24hr Wi-Fi spot, which also happens to be connected to a 24hr laundromat as well, and just enjoyed the high speed internet. I downloaded four different anime series in their entiry (over 100 episodes of anime goodness) and then brought up my MP3 Rocket and started downloading me some music.

I arrived here around, I want to say sometime after 9pm on Saturday night and it’s now after 6 o’clock Sunday morning.

The newspaper people came in and dropped off the bundle of Sunday newspapers in the hallway. As you might have guessed, these suckers are free and the subscription is paid for by the proprietors. Well, after securing my own newspaper, I planted myself back in front of my laptop and got back to work. Not ten minutes later an older woman sneaks into the hall, yes sneaks and picks up a paper. She glances at the ads then began to rifle through the rest and pulling out the coupons and ads in all of the others. The newspapers are free, yes, but there’s no need to be greedy about it.

Since it was apparent she didn’t notice me sitting int the corner and thought the building was empty I decided to mess with her. The place is empty and it echoes nicely. I started whistling an ACDC song just for kicks. I think I might have given her a heart attack because the old biddy jumped and spun around; eyes wide, pupils dilated, and chest heaving as she gulped in air like a fish on land. Eventually she spotted me and did a very good impersonation of a tomato, I had to give it an 8.5. For a moment she just stared at me and looking like she was ready to bolt for the door. Just to further mess with her I said Oh, sorry about that. I love that tune. It’s called “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” by ACDC.

Methinks she’s not an ACDC fan because she put the other newspapers down, grabbed the one she had initially picked up, and made a beeline for the exit.

What can I say, I love messing with people’s minds.
