Joana is hired! That’s right folks, just got off the phone with a very nice woman at DialAmerica. My training starts Monday at 3pm. 
It’s an awesome feeling to know that, starting Monday, I will have a steady flow of income and will no longer have to worry about loss of service or late fees on bills simply because I haven’t been paid yet. Seriously though, at the rate I was going, I was beginning to think the only chance at employment I had was literally flipping burgers or becoming a door-to-door saleswoman selling Miele vacuum cleaners. Not that I have anything against those, I just would have been utterly humiliated with those occupations.
Friday I’m going shopping though. It’s been years since I had to dress professionally on a daily basis so my “business casual” wardrobe is seriously lacking. Plus, some of the stuff I have doesn’t fit anymore. Most of it’s left overs from high school (because of marching band and windensemble) and that stuff definately doesn’t fit. At last count I’ve got two nice knit sweaters, three blouses, and two pairs of slacks. I have a long black skirt that still fits, but none of the remaining blouses go with it and the only blouses I have that would work with it make it something to wear out to dinner or clubbing.
So yeah, clothes shopping. And purse shopping too. I sadly need a purse, mine is definately not something that goes well with office attire. Jeans? Yeah. Not slacks and dresses. 
Maybe I can find one that will double as a laptop bag?

Congrats on the job hon! I’m so happy for you!!!! And going professional clothes shopping is fun too. Just be sure to get easy to pair pieces, classic patterns and colors that go with multiple things. As for a purse, a nice over the shoulder bag that looks like a briefcase may work for banks and stuff, but even I carry a regular black purse in addition to my laptop bag – so don’t focus on that too much as it will just sit next to you unless you’re going to and from your car.
I’m so happy for you! It’s a big accomplishment to get a good job in this economy so give yourself a pat on the back from me. Enjoy shopping too!
