Food Porn: Poptarts Splitz!

Yosh! I’m back to tease you with more yummy food pictures. It’s mean to, essentially, wave food in front of a person’s face if they can’t eat it (only drool over it). I’d like to think you guys enjoy seeing what I like to munch on and getting some input on future adventures in yummy-land.
I got the munchies earlier and headed out to Wal-Mart to pick up some goodies to nibble on when I’m in the middle of something. Aka, Joana went and bought “computer food”. Quick to make and filling. I found a new flavor/brand of poptarts while I was there and decided to pick up a box to try. They’re called Poptarts Splitz and basically, you get two flavors in one. The only flavor I saw at the store was Strawberry and Chocolate, which is a safe enough combination to sample and probably the only one I would have tried had there been a variety to choose from.

As you can see from the box, and the picture above, you can see that the poptarts have one the chocolate on one side and strawberry on the other, both on the outside and the filling as well. However, as you can see from the picture below, it is sadly not as pictured on the box.

I was rather disheartened to see that the icing on the poptarts is rather skimpy. And no, it wasn’t just a one time deal either. I’ve opened two packets thus far and they were all thin on the icing.
The poptarts themselves taste awesome though! I was kind of concerned that the flavors might mix and come out tasting funky. Thankfully that isn’t the case.
I’m not sure though that these were worth paying extra for though. These guys were actually about $0.40 more than the other poptarts.

They certainly look like they’d be good. Although I have to say, I’ve been disappointed as of late with the skimpy icing on all of the PopTarts. It seems to me all the boxes show far more icing than are actually on the PopTarts.
I’ve never been a big fan of the icing either. But at least they’re trying something new, no? Those two look like a safe combination.
