In fact we really really wanted to keep him. But realistically we knew couldn't. Can't afford another dog, and since EBID won't allow us to build a fence that will enclose the property entirely (since our house borders the canal and an irrigation ditch) we can't comfortably keep any other dogs confined to the yard either. :( Julie,
