Burning With Flavor!

I was starving and there wasn’t a single “ready to be made” thing in the house that I would actually eat. Oh, there are some of those Hamburger Helper, mixes lying around, but I’m way finicky about which ones I like. Everything else that looked appealing to me had a lengthy prep time. Like thawing chicken for example. So, finding the left over hamburger meat in the fridge, that didn’t get used to make a Hamburger Helper meal a few nights ago, I made my dinner.
Turned the stove on, put a pan on the fire and threw in a fistful of chopped onions and then some chopped jalapeƱos and started frying them. Once they had gotten browned I added in the hamburger meat and sprinkled on some spices. Specifically I added comino molido, azafran, garlic powder, and black pepper.
For some odd reason though I didn’t feel the need to make anything to accompany it. No rice, no potatoes, nothing. Just strained the grease and threw it in a bowl. The jalapeno was a little spicy, not much though, so I added in a good dose of chili we had in the fridge.
Sadly, it still didn’t have the wanted “burn” so I added even more chili. So picture the dish above, then add in about twice as (maybe more) chili on top of that. My mouth may still be on fire, but damn was it worth it!
I didn’t drain the grease as much as I should have though, because I was positively starving, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up having to go through my entire stock of blemish acne cream in the next couple of days as a result of a breakout.
But it’ll be worth it.

Looks yummy, though I couldn’t handle anything that spicy. Yay though for you coming up with random awesome dishes on the spot.
Julie,
Why thank you my dear!
Spicy food is an acquired taste.
I’ve grown up eating chili since I was a baby, so it takes a lot or something strong for me to make my mouth water. So don’t feel bad if you can’t handle something that hot, it just means you haven’t burned all of your tastebuds [like me] off.
