BTT: Format

This Week’s Booking Through Thursday question asks:
All other things (like price and storage space) being equal, given a choice in a perfect world, would you rather have paperbacks in your library? Or hardcovers? And why?
In all honesty, my mind cannot fathom the space being equal between a paperback and a hardback. It defies the laws of physics. But okay, in a perfect world, I think I would still prefer paperbacks. Because they fit in your hand easier and travel better. Hardbacks are nice though, for when you’re collecting a series and alway look so neat and tidy.
Of course in my case, if they have jackets I tend to mess them up. I think that’s why dislike hardbacks. Aside from the price difference and how much space they take up, I always seem to mess the jackets up badly.

I’m with you on the paperbacks. Lighter and easier to take with you anywhere. They do get destroyed easier though. Get all creased up and stuff.
Most of my books are antiques. Because of this they are mostly hardbacks and mostly without jackets. Happy BTT.
