Beautiful Scent But That’s It

You know, I got this beautiful smelling Martha Stewart candle not that long ago. It’s a large candle, comes in a jar with a nice lid, and the smell is awesome. When you light the candle the fragrance fills the entire house with this clean and comforting scent. The candle’s scent is cranberry citrus, something that I normally would not have thought to be a good combination.

Well the funny thing is, the scent combination is a winner, it’s just too bad the candle is of poor quality. You light the thing, it burns, but only a small radius of the wax around the wick actually burns. You know what this means of course, with only the small portion turning to liquid and burning (the rest just softens up a tad bit) the wick burns faster so the candle goes down faster while more than half the wax is still there.

I’ve tried squashing the wax down to even it out with the burnt wax, which does normally help to prolong a candle’s life. It’s a no go. It still just burns in the small little circumference and that’s it.

So while the scent itse;f is gorgeous, the actual quality of the candle is horribly poor. My advice, it might smell great, but stay away from Martha Stewart. Her candles are of substandard quality, in more way than one. Don’t believe me? Do a Google search for “Martha Stewart candles” and you’ll see a nice range of product recalls.

That really sucks that the candle doesn’t burn well. I mean really, if other candles out there burn normally, which they do, then Martha Stewart candles should be able to be made the same.

Have you tried a candle warmer it should melt the entire candle with out actually using a burning wick. I’ve been there when it comes to candles.

I had found a site that said candles have a “memory” and that you have to wait for them to melt completely across the top before snuffing them out or else they always burn in a small circle. I had one candle I did that with and it worked, but I’ve had a lot of candles that don’t burn that way no matter what. I had a Yankee Candle that burned that way, little circle, nothing else. LOL
