At Long Last She Answers Her Tag

Memes - - Posted on April, 21 at 8:38 pm

So apparently both Karyn and Amber tagged me for this meme, which I still had not answered until today. Oopsie guys! So now, let’s roll.

Here’s how you play: Once you’ve been tagged you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random facts, habits, or goals about yourself– at the end choose 5 people to be tagged. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying (You’re It!) and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you.

So let’s see, 10 random (or weird) facts about me…

  1. If I sold my entire collection of anime dvds, toys, manga, shitajika, doujinshi, posters, scrolls, and other paraphernalia I would completely obliterate my debt (between 5 and $6,000) and have some money to spare. Of course, then I’d be really sad too :( so that’s a no-go.
  2. I have a couple of anime series, complete, on dvd that I have no idea why I still have them. For example, Yami no Matsui (Descendants of Darkness) not a big fan of it anymore at all, but yet I haven’t parted with it. Go figure.
  3. I’ve got this thing about collecting all of my favorite television shows on dvd in their entirety and I am slowly working towards that goal. Xena and La Femme Nikita are daunting however since none of their sets are cheap.
  4. While I enjoy collecting various anime dvds, manga, and what not, I can’t help but to wonder at the pointlessness of collecting anything. When I die it’ll get left behind and probably fall into the hands of relatives who couldn’t care less about the quality or awesomeness of the item and only see it for the price it can fetch at an auction.
  5. Sometimes I find myself wondering if I’ll still own my websites and fanlistings when I’m older, say into my forties. If I still own my fanlistings at this point, would I be considered a freak or just “friggin awesome”.
  6. I used to think I wanted to become famous or at least renown in my given field, with plenty of money and all the latest gadgets. Now I’ve discovered that I’d just like to have a comfortable and peaceful life and a home of my own to share with someone I love.
  7. I’ve been told that despite all that I’ve seen and done I still act far too much like a kid. I used to think this was bad, now I take it as a compliment, whether it’s intended as one or not. I like to think that so long as I remain young at heart I’ll never become one of those bitchy snowbirds that Kat blogs about. *shudders*
  8. I wish that I could stop being self-conscious about my looks, but in the end, I think it’s a curse all females must bear with so long as our society is obsessed with physical appearances.
  9. I truly dislike it when people can’t respect your decision and must proceed to “enlighten” you to the wrongness of your decision and “convert” you. This applies to all subjects and areas, religion, politics, parenting, careers - what have you.
  10. Contrary to popular belief: Joana has never smoked anything worse than cigarettes and the only times needles have pierced her skin were for her vaccinations and when she went to the plasma clinic. :) I know this shocks people silly, especially since I’ve got a fairly open minded look in regards to the use of marijuana.

There now, I’ve said my piece. As for tagging people, well this is actually a bit difficult since a lot of people have already been tagged. So…lets see, I’m going to tag: Kat, Charity, Connie, Jenn, and Tina. You guys don’t have to do the tag of course, but if you do let me know so I can read it. :)

I’m gonna poke at #4 there.

The reason to collect isn’t necessarily for yourself, it can be for future generations. There are tons of books and artwork we wouldn’t have (as a society) if it wasn’t for random collectors.

Well, I got mine done! Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone to tag at the moment, so I took the cheaters way out. LOL

    skolor,

That is a very good point. There is quite a bit of culture that would have been lost entirely were it not for collectors. However, this brings me back to the original problem I foresee upon my timely (or untimely) demise - family. Aside from my mother, I honestly see most of my collections going into the trash. Some bits and pieces they might keep, some they might sell if it seems like it’s something valuable, but most I imagine will get junked.

    I suppose I should take out a will. :D

Props to you on number 9. I kind of hate that too. I do like having discussions with people on points of view different from mine, as long as they don’t try to shove it down my throat!

    Moira,

Why thank you m’dear. Indeed, discussions can be a great deal of fun, but when people think their’s is the one true way and all others are ignorant, well then we have a problem. How fun would this world be, after all, if we all agreed on the same thing? BORING!

I’m with you on #5, will any of us still own our fanlistings and run our websites when we’re 40? I hope so, kinda. I haven’t done my tag cause I’m lazy heh.
