I just found a new pet and animal blog today that I will be adding to my feed reader. The blog is called Thoughts Fur Paws (Thoughtsfurpaws.com) and the author of blog writes with such flair and wit that you’ll be bobbing your head in agreement and cracking up within a matter of moments. One of the most recent posts, Dog Show for Humans? is a perfect example of this.

JL goes on to write how dog shows seem to be more about the owners/breeders rather than the pooches and even asks the question that has always buzzed around in my head whenever I see dog or cat shows. How many litters did the owners go through to get that “perfect” pet? What happened to those less than desirable pets? It’s something no one wants to think about, but it has to be asked.

The blog is sill relatively new (only 2 months old!), but already holds a lot of promise. I was rather surprised to see that one of the blog’s categories is entitled “Pet Poems“. The poems I found under the category were well written and moving. Not all of the poems are written by JL mind you, some are poems that come from other sources and selected to be shared with the readers.

The blog is off to a great start, although I would like to see JL add something to the blog’s layout to give it a more personal feel. As it is right now, it looks like a very basic free theme and feels impersonal. I’d also like to see the addition of an author page so that we can get some insight on the author behind the blog as well as what kind of pets the author has as well. And maybe the addition of more cat-centric articles? Although that could be because I’m a cat-person and a little biased there.
