A New Mexico Sunset in January
Home Life, Shutterbugging - 9 Comments » - Posted on January, 11 at 12:03 am
Ever since my mom bought me a digital camera for graduation I’ve been snapping pictures like crazy. I think I’m in love with the fact that anytime there is a “Kodak moment” for once I have a camera on hand that works beautifully and gives me great pictures, unlike my cell phone’s camera.
In an attempt to improve, I’ve been challenging myself to take, at least, a picture a day. I’ve been charting my progress, and even though it’s minimum at best, there has been some. This evening…err…better make that yesterday evening I took some shots of the setting sun. I can’t take credit for these beautiful images as Mother Nature did most of the work, but I thought I’d share them.
Gotta warn you, this post is graphic intense.

I’ve been contemplating making a photo blog, but I don’t consider myself a real photographer and I think it would be insulting to try and place myself on the same plateau as, say Drew, so no photo blog for me.
I have made a new category however that will be containing my better “attempts” at photography so you’re welcome to chart my progress if you like.

You captured those sunsets beautifully! But I am partial to sunsets… Either way, I think they’re lovely.
By the way, the blog took 30seconds to load, even after the pictures loaded in my reader.
I think your photographs are lovely and the sky is amazing. You’ve captured a lot of detail in the colors. I definitely think it’s a good idea to add your photography here, not as a separate blog, but when you take some awesome pictures you want to share make a blog out of them. SarcasticMom has a meme (http://sarcasticmom.com/?page_id=137) where on Sunday you post your favorite photos you have taken that week. You can start out that way. I sure would love to see more of the awesome NM scenery.
I’m partial to sunsets too (mainly because I’d rather sleep in than wake up early enough for a sunrise!).
Those are some nice shots…. Snape would be disapointed, I didn’t think he liked anything pretty….
Maria,
Thank you hun. Yes, I prefer sunsets myself. Anytime I see the sunrise it usually means I’ve been working all night and still have to work some more before going to sleep. Bad association.
Thanks for that, I’m probably going to remove those rotations after all. But the blog should be running faster now, I removed the tools from the header, even the ones that said explicitly to leave ‘em there. I deleted old unactivated plugins won’t be using and found the tables associated with old plugins I deleted. Then repaired and optimized the database. Hopefully that should make it all good.
Julie,
Rodger that ma’am, the photography shall be making a regular appearance here then. At least the images I’m not too embarrassed about anyway.
Maybe I’ll join in on Sarcastic Mom’s thinger. At least I have something for this week already.
mcangeli,
Snape likes pretty things, he’ll just never admit it.
Besides, sunsets or sunrises, which do you think he’d prefer?
Awesome work Miss Joana. You’ve got to love those New Mexico sunsets…:)
And by the by, the picture at the top of this page of the trees with red leaves is gorgeous. Where is that at?
