8 Months Later: Bloggerwave Still Scamming Bloggers

Claptrap, Online - - Posted on January, 25 at 5:56 pm

Ladies and gentlemen, this company apparently never learns from its mistakes and is quite intent on bilking any blogger who is trusting enough to sign up with them.

Meet Connie, she did a post with them in November and still hasn’t been paid nearly 3 months later! You might remember the ordeal I had to go through in order to get paid back in May and June of last year with them. It turns out that their customer-relations and business sense hasn’t gotten any better. Yes, granted, PayPal was partially to blame for the ordeal that many bloggers went through last year, but the company itself took no major effort to rectify the mistake and only began to take serious action when bloggers threatened litigation and used their blogs to spread the word about the less than trustworthy company. Oh, Bloggerwave was getting publicity but it certainly wasn’t helping them any.

And now, here we are in January of 2008 and Bloggerwave still hasn’t learned a thing. Or rather, I suspect that they just don’t give a damn about people. According to their Terms of Service, Bloggerwave mandates that the post stay live on your blog for 30 days and you will be paid for the post at the end of that thirty days, much like other paid to blog companies. Connie wrote her post on November 2, 2007. It is now January 25, 2008 and she has yet to be compensated for her work. I ask you, is this a company you can trust? Given their sordid past I’m surprised that the company is still in business and bloggers are actually making money with them!

Are bloggers actually making money with them however? That’s the question. When Bloggerwave first opened, I and several other bloggers joined up to give it a shot. Interestingly enough there were already top earners who had nearly a hundred dollars already. What was most impressive however was the fact that, at the time, there were only 2 $10 assignments to do. With a max number of 5 blogs allowed in the system and being able to take an assignment only once, well how was it feasible that people were already making $90+ dollars? Let alone the amounts that ended with loose change? Were these top earners, dare I say, fake? Apparently so:

I just logged in to Bloggerwave and my name is on the “Top Dog Bloggers” list, saying I’ve earned $330! Now, considering I have one blog with them and I’ve only done one $10 post, I don’t know how that’s possible. I logged into pay pal to see if they had sent me $330, but nope, only the $10 I earned. So what’s up? I feel used.

My point is this, Bloggerwave is a company that cannot be trusted. They goofed in the past, and after much drama were forced to own up to their mistakes, but their dishonestly and credibility remain in poor standing none the less because of their continued abuse of bloggers like Connie, who is sadly one of several I’ve read about in the past couple of months.

A mistake is only a mistake the first time, when you repeat the action over and over it is no longer a mistake folks, it’s intentional and Bloggerwave is intentionally trying to weasel out of paying people the money they owe them for their work. Do not trust this company. If you want to monetize your blog I highly recommend looking towards other reputable services.

Another thing I have noted with Bloggerwave is that they do NOT respond to inquiries to customer service. I’ve tried several times and never received a response. Also, I find it strange that you have to have a certain rating to take any of their ops, but yet, you have to be able to take ops to get a rating. Huh?

    Charity,

Wow, that rating system must be something that was implemented after my ordeal because I never had to deal with ratings. I imagine mine would not be very good anyway. ;)

You bring up a good point. I remember trying to contact them over and over and I never got a response. Then finally I had had enough and threatened them with litigation for their breach of contract. Then and only then did I get a poorly written response stating that they were “working on it”.

Thanks for helping to spread the word. I really appreciate it. There’s a bit of an error though and it’s on my part. My name is Connie not Piez. Piez is the person whose photo I used. I fixed the photo credits so it’s not so confusing.

    Connie,

Hey, sorry about that. I thought you were going by that name/handle on the blog since it showed up top on the entry..made me think it was meant to be the author’s name. Fixed that error now, thanks for pointing it out. :)

And no problem, something needs to be done about this company. Their history is absurd and it’s a wonder they’re still operating!

I have received payments from them on time for every post I’ve written, which has been at least four, but I had noticed later last year that their images were having problems in the posts and made my site look bad, so I removed them.

I don’t think Bloggerwave is worth it anyway, there aren’t enough opportunities to grab and the same ones sit there, which made me always wonder why people were earning a lot through Bloggerwave. I kept thinking that it had to be a fake list of top earners. Now I know. Thanks!

    Alisha,

Wow, congratulations hun, I think you’re one of few that never had payment problems with them. :)

Indeed, their “Top Dog Earners” amounts never seemed feasible with the meager opps they have available to take.

Wow, that’s just awful. You’d think after all this time they’d get closed down for being scammy.

That’s horrible. I think somebody should take legal action against them. They shouldn’t be on the ‘net and should be taken down.

    Maria,

I agree, they shouldn’t be around anymore, but so long as bloggers sign up with them they are technically “staying afloat”.

When everything happened back in May and June one blogger kept a very detailed chronicle of what was going on, because he was in touch with PayPal through most of it. Shortly after the dust settled Bloggerwave paid campaigns on their site for their bloggers to take. The campaigns were all linking to his blog posts and putting a good spin on everything that had happened.

    Sweeping it under the rug.

I’m googling the net about Bloggerwave (I joined it last Dec) and arriving here. Thanks, this confirm me that something is wrong about Bloggerwave. I even googled those names on the Top Dog blogger list, and found no related fact (I think) but only this http://www.inin78.com/2008/01/hilarious.html

I wonder how to delete profile from BW?
Btw, thanks for sharing this info.

:wow: ruth of transposable element brought me here, and a good thing too. I signed up for bloggerwave last week and got my approval only now, and I’ve done only the “i joined bloggerwave” post. thank you for the heads up!
