Tell Me Sweet Little Lies

As much as I love the Fleetwood Mac song I don’t particularly like being told little lies nor do I like being the recipient of broken promises and empty words either.
I mean really, if someone says they’re going to do something and they give you a certain date for it than by golly they damn well better do it. And if they offer up some weak platitudes such as: oh I forgot or it was a mistake, I meant… well doesn’t one have a right to be upset? I mean truly, if you inform the person well in advance that a special event is going to be held at a certain venue on a specific date and time then if you find out differently isn’t there an unspoken obligation to inform this person of the change?
If you leave a person hanging and standing out in the cold than do you have any right to act offended when they voice their ire with you? I hardly think so! If you couldn’t show consideration to inform them of the change of plans whey you found out then the least you can do is stand there and take it like a man when your comeuppance is upon you instead of barking back that it was an accident. It’s only an accident on the first stumble, when you don’t learn or make no effort to correct it and keep stumbling along than it becomes intentional and it is no longer an accident, a mistake, it’s purposeful.
So if you knew that an error occurred and the appointment could no longer go on as planned then it is your obligation to inform the other person of such. If instead you decide to say nothing and leave them standing there like a fool waiting for the second member of the party to arrive that never will than you are not a victim of chance and misfortune, nor was it an “accident” either. You’re just a jackass.

Oh man whoever did that is a dumbass. I mean really, if you tell someone something and find out it’s wrong, it’s your job to fix it and tell them the right thing. Otherwise, you’re stupid and the person who followed your original plan has every right to chew you out and you have to take it and say oh shit I’m so sorry for being dumb. Not, oh oops don’t yell at me. GAH I’d be mad too if I were you.
