Random Spillage

I’ve got lots and lots of little things to mention so I’m just compiling everything into one mega blog post, the likes of which has not been seen here on N-I for quite some time.

So my car got vandalized yesterday, one tire was tampered with. Read: Slashed. It looks like I was lucky though, Shizuku my over protective baby must have chased off whoever did it before they could finish the job. I say this because the neighbors to the left of us, three of them to be exact, had all of their tires slashed. What the hell? Is this some punk’s idea of kicks?! Big O is going to replace it for free for me though since they’re under warranty so there is no money coming out of my pocket. Still though, I’m pissed that someone would do this shit for the fun of it.

So after a very stressful day and evening yesterday I stayed up until 5am then crashed only to wake up at about 10am in order to hit the online advertising company opportunities page. My eyes felt like sandpaper and I was starving. Nothing in the fridge looked appetizing so I decided to go outside and plug in the electric barbecue and put a frozen chicken breast on to cook. I got wrapped up in what I was doing for a bit so I expected that by the time I got out there the bottom would be crispy fried. Right? Wrong. Apparently my grandfather didn’t realize I was cooking something and unplugged the extension cord. Imagine my surprise when I lifted the grill’s lid to see a still frozen chicken breast. -_-; It’s cooking now like it should have been but boy is my stomach rumbling. :dead:

There is some good news in all of this though, I got more books in the mail! Yesterday six came in and now a couple more arrived today. They’re the ones I picked off of PaperBackSwap too! I’m so happy, lots more reading for me to do. According to the paperbackswap ite, which calculates how much money you’ve saved based on the used book rate of $4.50, I’ve saved $81.00 with them. Hah! It’s a hell of a lot more than that. I almost always have to buy new books since my genres and favorite authors never seem to come into the used book stores. Considering the average mass market paperback is about $7.99 now (sometimes $6.99 sometimes more) I’ve really saved about $143.82. Oh hell yeah!

And to think I’ve still got some more book on their way too! What would I do without the internet? Don’t answer that.

Ah, speaking of online adventures that brings me to another interesting trial I got to undergo today. A few days ago Julie brought it to my attention that my subcriber plugin was sending out duplicate emails for the notifications. I checked the plugin page and only one plugin was installed then I happened to glance up and see the tabs. The plugin was showing up twice there for some odd reason. So I deactivated it then reactivated it, no change. I deleted the plugin and then reinstalled it, same thing. Finally I checked the creator’s blog and noticed he/she had released a new version for the 2.2+ users. I downloaded and installed that and now it appears to be working.

Except it won’t save my template changes.

And now when people leave comments the comment box doesn’t acknowledge line breaks unless you use the html for it. WTF? This new version is full of headaches.
