New Bookstore to Peruse

I almost needed a Chadwick's coupon for a new outfit for graduation, since the skirt I just had to wear didn’t go with anything. Luckily, I found an old favorite blouse in the back of my closet so I was okay on that front.
I am, once again, extremely perturbed with Barnes & Noble. I received an email notification from Amazon.com that Carrie Vaughn’s latest Kitty Norville novel, Kitty and the Silver Bullet was now available to purchse so after all of the halabuloo was over with the graduation ceremony I went up to B&N – it wasn’t on the shelves. I asked one of the sales clerks to check for it only to be talked down to like an idiot and told that of course it’s not on the shelves if it hasn’t been released yet. Really! It’s a no wonder I refuse to renew my B&N membership and hardly shop there anymore.
I double checked Amazon.com when I came home, sure enough it’s been released. I hoped to find some Amazon coupons on EdealFinder.com to help me save a little since I’m about to make a large book purchase, no go. They did however have Books A Million coupons though. I have never used this online book store before, but I figure if I have a BooksAMillion.com coupon to use on my first purchase there then why not.
For the record, BAM has the book available as well. As do several other online bookstores. I guess B&N just isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be anymore.

I don’t bother with B&N or Borders anymore. It’s just so much easier to buy on half.com or amazon these days. It sucks that your store has been screwing with you but I’m glad you found a good new online bookstore with coupons to use!
B&N has really gotten horrible. The one we have here just looks at you like you’re an idiot when you ask about any book. If you don’t see it on the shelf, they aren’t going to tell you where to find it.
I get most of my books from Amazon now.
Julie,
Yeah, I’ve pretty much gotten to the point where I’m saying “screw you” to B&N. While, in general, they have a larger selection than Hastings (another bookstore in town) the service there and the hassle to get there (it’s in the mall so whether you go in through the mall entrance or parking lot entrance you still get the honor of dealing with a mall crowd).
So if Hastings doesn’t have what I want, I’ll just order online. Besides, Hastings has a sweet coffee shop inside and free wifi. And I don’t have to be a club member or have to buy something to drink to use it.
Charity,
Sounds like it’s an epidemic with all B&N stores. I swear, if you type in the key words “barnes and nobles”, “B&N”, or “”bookstore” on my blog you will get quite a few horror stories about them. Rude service, poor selection, the list goes on and on.
So yeah, I’m using the other bookstore (which also has the best anime selection and free wifi) from now on and if they don’t have what I need I’m buying online. Enough is enough.
