My Mail: Finally Delivered to Me

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been expecting some packages, but they never arrived. I had begun to grow a little concerned over them until my grandfather started cleaning out his truck today. While cleaning out the cab of the truck he came across some mail he had forgotten about in the backseat of his truck. Mail that was not his but mine and it had, from what he could remember, been riding around in the back of his truck for a week now.
Really, I don’t understand him. If it was mail delivered to the P.O. box I could understand that, kind of, because he’s the one who always picks up the mail from there. But the home address? He knows I go out to check it every day and my mother often stops and checks it as well when she comes home. So I really don’t understand why he felt the need to drive by the house, pick up the mail, and then go on his merry way. What was the point, it seems more like a waste of time to come over and do that when I would have gotten it on my own anyway. He could be supervising the farms and what not but instead he chose to come stop by and snatch up the mail?
The man is weird.
Aside from some junk mail that offered me prizes varying from millions of dollars in cash, a new car, an xbox 360, and a trip to Hawaii, I also finally got two books that I requested at PapperBackSwap and the wonderful smelling spiced pumpkin soap I won from Tee’s Pumpkin Carving Contest! It smells heavenly and is tempting me to go take a nice luxurious bath.

you deserve a good bath, go take one… relax.
Old men think differently, not logically, just differently. But I’m glad you finally got your mail!
Oh and I know someone who’s behind in commenting
Julie,
Oh yes, he thinks very differently, no doubt about that.
Ah, forgive me hun. I haven’t been on top of my game lately thanks to papers, projects, and exams that have all come up close enough together to give me a headache.
Hey congrats on winning the carving contest! I have never carved a pumpkin in my entire life but pretty soon my son’s going to be 3 next year and I have no way out once he asked
He might have been out in the driveway when the packages were delivered….
Pumpkin soap?? Don’t know if I’d like that…
Glad you finally got your soap! I hope it wasn’t melted from riding around in the truck with your grandfather. LOL.
Lisa,
Thanks!
It was an online carving contest though, we got to use this nifty Flash program to carve a virtual pumpkin.
Ah, I know I was much the same way when I was a kid. Every year my mother dreaded the experiance of hunting down the perfect Halloween pumpkin with me. I would drag her everywhere until I found the perfect one.
mcangeli,
That’s a possibility I suppose, although still odd because our mail arrives in the late afternoon-evening so I would have been here and he could have just walked inside and given it to me or let me get it.
The soap smells delicious and makes me think of baking in the kitchen during the holidays. Yummy!
Tracy,
Thanks, and no it wasn’t melted, thankfully. It’s been “cold” around here for us lately. No warmer than 70 if we’re lucky but temperatures mostly in the 50 and 60′s (Fahrenheit).
That’s cold for us!
