Las Vegas is a Sight to Behold

When I say the words Las Vegas what comes to mind?

Do you think of the large and dense city of Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by the hot and sprawling Mojave Desert, or do you just envision the Las Vegas Strip with its numerous casinos, flashing neon lights, and luxurious hotels? Whatever it is that comes to your mind when you envision Las Vegas there is one thing that is for certain, it is a city you will never forget. Myself, personally, when I think of Las Vegas I cannot help but to think of the Las Vegas Strip, but not for the reasons that you might think. I’m not much of a gambler, in fact I’ve only been to a casino once, for my 21st birthday, and it wasn’t anything particularly spectacular. No what I think the most of when I think of Las Vegas are the shows. There might not be anymore Siegfried and Roy shows to taken in, sadly, but there are numerous other musical, comedy, and entertaining shows to take in. Now that’s what I call entertainment.

And of course what fun is a city if it has no museums? Not fun at all! Thankfully though Las Vegas sports a variety of different museums, one of particular interest to me is Madame Tussauds. Marie Tussaud worked under a famous doctor who was skilled in wax sculpting and when he passed on he gave his collection to her. Marie then carried on the practice and sculpted numerous death masks. There are Marie Tussaud wax museums scattered about across the US and the world, but the one in Las Vegas has become exceptionally popular and it is the one I would like to visit the most. That isn’t the only Las Vegas museum that I would like to visit though. What trip to Las Vegas would be complete with out seeing the Hoover Dam and subsequently the Hoover Dam Museum?

Sadly enough I never got to see the Elvis-A-Rama museum before it was closed down. I do know that they are planning on making a bigger and better Elvis dedication and museum on the Strip, you definitely have to check that out.

Like all deserts the Mojave Desert has a beauty all of it’s own, and from what I understand real estate in Las Vegas is in high demand. I myself am not in the market for house buying, but if you are that is definitely a location you want to look into.

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? If so then when, and what did you think of your experience? What comes to your mind when you think of Las Vegas?

I think of all the inside-a-casino scenes from movies I’ve seen. Showgirls, blackjack, slots, fancy drinks, and whatnot. But I imagine it’d be a really pretty shot, the city all lit up as pictured from a few miles out in the desert.

I’ve never been to Vegas, but your description of the town sounds good enough to warrant a two-day vacation idea.

I looove Las Vegas, despite the fact I’m still a minor. I’ve been there several times, and I just love staying on the Strip and seeing shows, shopping, everything.

Everything is just so big there, I never can see all of it. But seriously, gambling is only one fraction of all the stuff there is there. The New York New York roller coaster is so much fun. And the last time I went I saw the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibar, it was an awesome dinner show. I also saw the Tim Burton Magic Show at the Monte Carlo, he was incredible.

Overall Vegas is a really great spot to vacation. The one thing I hate the most is the heat. Living in the Northwest its hard to adapt to 100+ degree weather.

Ya know, I really didn’t have any idea that Las Vegas had museums… I guess it should have been a no brainer but you know how I don’t really think about things sometimes haha

I’ve been to Vegas once, with my parents and another family when I was 16. So the Strip comes to mind, since that’s all I saw of it, not the desert. We stayed at the Circus Circus which has an amusement park for kids, where we hung out while the parents did their over 21 thing. We also saw Chicago at the MGM. Vegas has lovely hotels that are all so interesting to look at. So I remember the great hotels that all look like various parts of the world, the pyramid hotel, the roman empire hotel, etc.
