It’s Denali vs Isis – Who Will Win?

Because of Denali’s claw ordeal we’ve had to change the litter in the litter box. Instead of using the stereotypical litter we’re now using pine litter, which looks kind of like feed actually. The normal kind of litter can’t be used until Denali’s paw is fully healed as the poweder and dust from litter can get into the wound and aggravate the infection.
That’s not the only change in the house though. We’ve had to change the diets up a bit and start feeding Denali more canned cat food so that I can hide her pain killers and antibiotics in it. This does not sit well with Isis at all. The little old lady is the one who eats canned cat food every so often, not Denali. At least, that’s how Isis feels about it. She’s taking to chasing Denali off whenever she sees Denali eating canned cat food. And just to make sure we realize that she doesn’t like the change in kitty litter, Isis has gone on strike and begun reliving herself on the newspaper surrounding the litter box. 
Isis has also developed a mean streak as well. She’s taken to sitting smack-dab in front of Denali and cleaning her paw. The paw she cleans is always her front left paw (Denali’s injured on her left front paw), and the claws are always flexed and extended full length. I might have thought I was imagining things, if this wasn’t the ninth time I caught her doing that in less than a day.
To retaliate, Denali tried to bop Isis on the head. That didn’t work because she used her injured paw which hurt her more than Isis. 
So now she’s taken to stealing Isis’ toys and chasing her from her favorite sleeping spots.
These girls are going to drive me insane!

LMAO your kitties are so human. Would it help if Denali got her own litter box in a special place and Isis never saw her feedings? It’s only until the paw heals so there’s no harm in a short change, plus Denali won’t be messed with, which will help her healing process. Poor kitty. Can I come over and scratch her head? She makes me sad for her.
