Harry Potter and Bleach Goodies for Me!

So aside from going to see Stardust yesterday (see There is a Reason Neil Gaiman is a God) my friend Mayra and I went walking around Sunland Park mall and grabbed a bite to eat at Jaxon’s as well. The food at Jaxon’s was delicious and thankfully their bartender was more than capable of making a decent Long Island Ice tea too, unlike the bartender at Applebee’s.

We found this one store in the mall that had some earthy and just plain unique outfits. I fell in love with this one rust colored jean skirt with lace and glitter. Very pretty but I have no where to wear it sadly. I also found a pair of silk pants that had small chimes sewn on the side that I was itching to buy. There were quite a few Asian and Middle Eastern styled outfits that were really unique and beautiful. Unfortunately we didn’t have that much money to spend and we hit the mall kind of late so we’ll definately have to go back another time.

True to form I stopped in at Hot Topic and wound up spending a little over $40 there too. I’m not regretting it though because I got some awesome stuff.Bleach and Harry Potter goodies! I walked in and saw a t-shirt display, all of which I somehow managed to avoid buying, that had a ton of Bleach shirts. There was one of Urahara by himself, one with Ichigo in the front and his Rukia’s silhouettes in the background, and another of Kon and Ichigo. Very tempting to buy but I managed not to cave in. Then I saw the rubber key chain of Kon (pictured) and I caved. After that it was a happy downward spiral. I picked up another key chain that came with three charms on it, one of Chappy the bunny, the duck, and Kon (also pictured). There was another keychain I could have gotten that would have had one of the Gotei 13 squad numbers and their symbols but I resisted because it looked kind of rinky-dink.

Of course at this point I made the mistake of moving on to the glass case where I found a plethora of Harry Potter paraphernalia. There was a cute pillow with the Hogwart’s motto, I resisted that, but caved and got the locket that has interchangeable character pictures (pictured). The locket has Harry on the inside but it comes with three other pictures you can change out, Ron, Hermione, and Draco. :draco: Three guesses as to why I went ahead and grabbed this even though it was $16 on its own! I also found a cool Bleach sticker (pictured) as well as the Slytherin lapel pin (pictured) I have been hunting for and some more Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. XD I even managed to get Mayra to try a couple of them too. She ate the earthworm, grass, cinnamon, and pickle ones. :) According to Mayra the pickle one tastes like a pickle that is going bad. :D

There was so much HP stuff there that I had to hurry up and buy what I had selected and get out right then and there. I swear I was in such a Harry Potter and Bleach happy mood that if someone had walked up to me with a packet of forms for life insurance for kids I’d have bought it no matter the price if it had HP stamped on it. Maybe that’s an exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

    Woot! Dibs on first comment.
xD Your a harry potter fan? Nice. I like Bleach as well, but I don’t think I’d cave in to buying that stuff. :P

Hope you had fun at Hot Topic. I’ve never been there.

    Sean,

LOL! Congrats on being the first comment then! :D

Am I a Harry Potter fan? But of course, although I’m more of a Slytherin fangirl myself.

Ah, I’m not too surprised to hear you wouldn’t have boughten the stuff despite being a Bleach fan. I think it takes a certain level of otaku-ness to start shelling out money for all the gear you can get. XD

    Karyn,

 We’re two peas in a pod! I told you that you would like Bleach! XD It’s awesome isn’t it? Hmm, I can’t think of anywhere that has Bleach episodes posted in English. I don’t think anyone is really gutsy enough to do that since Bleach is currently being aired in English here in the US, even though they’re way far behind compared to the Japanese series. I usually just download subtitled series so I don’t normally notice if anyone has English dubs up. You might want to try BleachPortal, they *might* have some.

:yay: Bleach goodies! I always cave in for Bleach goods, more than Harry Potter ones. Yeah, I know “you’re a Harry Potter fan” but my love for anime is more. XD (plus keychains are just awesome, hands down)

Haha that’s so cute that you found fun stuff that you’re into and had trouble resisting the purchase. That’s kinda why shopping is dangerous and I try to avoid it when I can. But so much fun.

    Isabel,

Truth be told, Bleach has already begun rivaling HP in terms of my obsession level. XD I love that show to bits. The only reason I got more HP stuff was because there was more unique HP stuff there where as most of the Bleach merchandise I already had. XD

Key chains are awesome. My poor backpacks and bags are literally over flowing with them, although I tend to keep my anime ones nice and neat so they don’t get messed up.

    Julie,

Agreed. Shopping is very dangerous especially when you’re shopping for things you love. I’m actually rather surprised I only spent $40. I was afraid I would tip closer to $100 when I saw all of the stuff they had. Thankfully I didn’t see much in way of Naruto stuff or I would have been done for!
