Don’t Buy Ad Space at Strawberry Plugs

People visit plugboards regularly, whether it’s to plug their sites or to find new sites to visit, that’s a given. So it seems like a smart thing to do is to purchase a “permanent plug” ad space for a period to optimize exposure right? Well yes, that does sound like a good idea, except there are some people out there who will happily take your money and run.
What, someone has failed to uphold their end of the bargain, Joana? Someone took your money and ran? Why yes they did. Behold Strawberry Plugs (http://plugit.moon-dust.net/). Her prices may be some of the cheapest you’ve ever seen but believe me when I say it’s no “bargain”. On September 4th I purchased two ad spots on her site, positions 1 and 2, since I didn’t know how fast plugs would get pushed off the plugboard and I’m horrible about visiting those on a regular basis. I wanted to have one slot for my contest (which as you know is only running for a month) and decided to advertise Scuttlebutt Pipeline a bit as well. I paid her via PayPal and got the confirmation emails. I expected the plugs would be up within a day or two, three max.
Lo and behold nearly a month has passed and they’re still not up. I’ve emailed the girl who runs the site (susana.luna@gmail.com) and I still have received no word back from her.
I can understand if there was some sort of major emergency, but it doesn’t take more than five minutes tops to email a person and let them know what is going on. If there was some sort of emergency the proper thing to do is to email your customers, inform them of the possible delay and give them the option of a refund or exchange. When you take someone’s money for a service you have entered into an agreement, a contract if you will, and you are obligated to uphold your end. If you fail do this then you’re nothing but a thief.
Yeah, the money I lost on this wasn’t much at all, but really that’s beside the point. The point is the lack of honesty and ethics.

I still can’t believe she did that to you. And who knows how many else she’s scammed. I really hope she comes to her senses and responds to your email and refunds your money with a formal apology.

That’s the exact reason why I blogged about this. She’s affiliated with several well known plugboards and her plugboard has been plugged regularly on other boards as well. After I had signed in to my email accounts for the nth time looking for a response I couldn’t help but wonder how many others have bought ad spots from her and received nothing in return? What’s to say I’m the first and that I’ll be the last? So despite the fact that I am loathe to invite trolls and drama to my blog I’ll take the chance.
Plugboards don’t work for meh, never get anythin out of em.

I know you where talking about this on veritgo, I didn’t realize that you had e-mailed this person and let her know how dissatisfied you where. RAWR. Can I beat them up for you? PLEASE?

Yup I had emailed, twice actually. Once shortly after I made the purchases to clarify that the payment was from the same person for two different sites and two different ad spots and requesting that she put the ad up for the blog contest up as soon as she could since that one was time sensitive. I received no response back to that email nor the second inquiry I sent. Looks like I might have to take this to PayPal themselves.
Well, if you should happen to meet them in a dark alley and they should happen to emerge with a black eye or two I certainly won’t be upset.
Honestly, sites like that are just crappy all around. Mari never bothered with plug sites.
Then again, Mari is a moron…but it’s stupid that the girl would take a month and still not provide the service you asked. Yeesh.
