That’s awesome that you know so many details about your heritage. So much of mine has been lost or swept under the rug. I know that I’m Austrian-Jewish, Russian-Jewish, German, Irish, and Native American (but not the tribe.)

My husband has no idea about his. So many generations were born in El Salvador. His ancestors could have been natives, Spanish, Asian or a mix of those.

And our kids are all of that and who knows what else

My older sister lived out in NM for a few years. She moved back East and misses it sometimes. I visited her once and loved it, too.

Well it is in a beer bottle and is supposed to look like one. If I hadn’t have known it wasn’t I would probably be making the same mistake they did. I just found it so funny that he just saw the bottle and reacted and didn’t even read the label.

Who would have thought to hear that right? I was sitting at the computer when he said that and for a moment I couldn’t help but think “what the hell is he talking about?” before it clicked. I had to put it in the post, it was just too funny.

So if I go off on random tangents in Spanish I know at least one reader will understand them right? My family, on my mother’s side, immigrated from Spain to Mexico during the colonization of the Americas. They settled down here in what is now New Mexico and become Americans after the the Gadsden Purchase. As such, my father immigrated from Mexico, so I’ve grown up with the language pounded into my head. You can imagine the uproar when I started learning and speaking Japanese.
