Anthropology and Bar Faucets

Well today was the easiest extra credit I ever got. Because we are going to need the handouts that the professor handed out to be filled in while watching the movie on the exam on Monday he had us just sign in. So everyone who showed up got the full 10 points, since some people never seemed capable of getting full credit on the sheets today was their lucky day.
That reminds me, as we were walking into class today I happened to glance over at the sinks and couldn’t help but to notice that the bar faucets on the sinks in the room look even worse this semester than they did the semester before last. This is proof that janitors of NMSU sure aren’t doing their job.
You see, the room our class is in is Breland 96, also known as the Breland basement because it is the basement of the building. But hey, we don’t have to share it with non-Anthropology students at least. This is the room where all of the bones and specimens are stored and since you’re not supposed to take them out of that room, well it stands to reason the classes involving hands on work are down there, but I digress. This is the room I had faunal analysis in, and as some may recall, we conducted some nasty experiments down there, and we’re certainly not the only ones. So if I told you that the bases of the faucets are corroded and just plain gross looking I bet you can imagine the way my stomach turned.
Hey, I don’t mind dissections, or playing with remains (I wouldn’t be going into the field I am if I were) but there is something seriously gross about the fact that the faucets and sinks we’re supposed to use to wash up are disgusting looking. Imagine the bacteria and germs on them!
I don’t know if they are Delta faucets or what, but they’ve seen better days, that’s for sure. I really wish the Anthropology department, or NMSU even, would invest a little money in getting some new bar faucets for the sinks back there. It’s not as if they would cost a lot either. They could just go to faucets.com for example and order a couple right there. Faucets.com has Kohler, Delta, Danze, Bach faucets and many others. There is definately a wide selection there so I see no reason why those nasty things have to remain a day longer.
Well, my second exam in that class is on Monday (no we don’t get Columbus day off sadly) so wish me luck guys!

Very few places get Columbus day off actually. Davis never did. But eww about the faucets, really makes you think twice before wanting to wash your hands there.
