A Hodgepodge of Weekend Rambles

I wasn’t in much of a blogging mood this past weekend, then to top it off I couldn’t seem to find more than a few spare minutes here and there to get to the computer to boot! So here’s my weekend posts condensed into one insane (and possibly inane) post. Enjoy.

Now where to begin? Ah yes, Saturday was one hell of a shopping expedition. First I spent the morning shopping in El Paso then I got dragged to Las Cruces by my mother to do, yes you guessed it, more shopping. Sadly enough, even with this being the tax-free weekend there wasn’t anything [electronics] for me to buy. The three digital cameras I’d been eyeballing at Best Buy were all sold out and they weren’t sure when they would get more in. I checked out Wal-Mart, for the heck of it, but it would seem that their display cameras were either low on battery power or not working. Kind of hard to test out a camera and see if it’s any good under those circumstances. So no camera for me.

I did manage to find myself a new pair of shoes at payless. I love them. They’re sporty looking but have these cool velcro strips instead of laces. I feel like a kid again, what with the velco shoes. I found a couple of other pairs that I was tempted to buy but I managed to put them back thankfully. While it would have been great to own them I really don’t need that many shoes. So it looks like my ancient pair of Vans, which I have had for about 8 years now will finally get to be retired. They were cracked and tearing on the soles so it’s about time I think.

We went out to Applebee’s and wow, that was the worst service I’ve ever had there. Our appetizers arrived about five minutes before our meal actually did, so a lot of good that did. On top of that the Long Island Teas we ordered we horribly watered down. It didn’t even taste like the bartender put half of the required amount of alcohol in each one and then compensated with the coke and some seltzer. When we asked the bartender to make us another one, a correct one mind you, our server came back and told us they couldn’t do that but them could sell us individual shots of rum and vodka to fix the drinks. :wtf:

Needless to say the server, who had to be initially hunted down by her manager, didn’t get a tip nor did the bartender. Honestly, I never thought I’d see the day someone could mess up a Long Island Tea and then to have the gall to charge us to fix their mistake? Now that’s just absurd.

Haha now you did like me, one long blog to cover the past few days hehehe. Yay for retail therapy. Too bad you weren’t able to get a camera, but good shoes are still good. Especially the kind without laces. I love those heh. Sooo lazy and easy to use. Blergh on the bad service at Applebees. Sometimes people just don’t care and are dumb, or distracted.
