8 Little Facts

Blogging is a great way to share some basic information about yourself and to open up to visitors. Still though, there are some basics that we, the readers, pick up easily on but the majority remain buried beneath the surface.
That said, skeet was looking for people to tag for a recent blog meme she received and I thought it would be fun to join in on so naturally I volunteered. The meme is callsed 8 Things and here’s how it works:
Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Now onto my 8 Facts:
- The number one song slot on my itunes is Reckless Fire by Ide Yosuoki and is the opening theme song for the anime s-CRY-ed. It’s held it’s spot since it was first downloaded and installed on this computer and has never slipped. Which is odd really since I don’t think that I listen to it that much but apparently I do. It’s got a 200 play count lead on the second place song (Romanticide by Nightwish) and gaining everyday. Right now it has 748 plays and counting.
- I still have all of my action figures and other toys from when I was a little kid stored away. It’s funny because my Thundercats and Silverhawks action figures are in good condition still and are apparently worth a lot of money and yet they’re just sitting there in storage boxes. Maybe one day I’ll sell them or at least get a glass case to store them in properly.
- I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve given up on my own creative writing and art. Poetry, prose, fanfiction, sketches, fanart – all of it. My work pretty much disgusts me right now and the only reason I haven’t torn it all down is because, well, what would be the purpose of my personal site? I might as well get rid of that than and then just switch my blog to N-I.net instead of the /weblog. I still like viewing and reading the works of others mind you, I just can’t stand mine anymore.
- I’ve always had a bit of a problem getting things done. If I don’t get on it or there isn’t a deadline or some other sort of pressure I have a very bad tendency to just put things off until the very end. I get into a dreamy lazy funk and when that happens it’s like I’m in my own world, literally. Sometimes I’ll just sit around unfocused for hours bored senseless but unable and unwilling to do anything. I’m a daydreamer.
- I have an unusually naturally high iron count in my blood. It was only noticed when I went to give plasma my first time. Initially I was rejected because of too much sugar (soda) in my blood. I was instructed to drink lots of water to flush my system. Eventually my sugar count came down and I could give plasma and then the lady who took the sample of my plasma/blood for a reading had to call over her supervisor to read their little thinger. They were shocked at how much iron was in my blood and asked how much meat and iron rich veggies I’d eaten. Sad to say I hadn’t had any meat and I was pretty much living on junk food at the time. Apparently my iron was just under the acceptable levels and I was allowed to give plasma. From then on I have to be careful to drink lots of water and avoid the veggies and meat before I go. Otherwise I’ll get turned away for too much iron or too much sugar which is never fun. Although it is always funny to see the tech’s face when they have to turn me away for too much iron. This is doubly funny considering my mother is anemic.
- I really dislike to be disturbed when I’m reading or I’m coding something. I can get downright nasty when you disturb me and I’ll tell you none to gently to leave me be. If the person persists they’re fair game to any manner of cheap shots, quick retorts and zingers that I can think of to get them to scuttle. I get into books and stories and I really dislike being pulled from them. As for coding, well I’m not very good at it so I hate being interrupted as I’m prone to make mistakes and will likely spend another ten minutes or so trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it on top of the normal time to code it.
- I have a lot of black in my wardrobe and even though it is one of my favorite colors it’s not my favorite color. That remains purple. I like all shades of purple as they can be paired with darker colors that take away the unnecessary brightness that may occur in pastels. Light purple, medium and plum are my favorites and they look great with black. Red I like, but only certain shades. Too light and it become pink, too dark and it’s brownish/orange. Blah. Other favorite colors, besides purple and black, are blue and green.
- And last but not least, despite my ability to spend a ton of money on certain items I’m actually pretty frugal and like to get my full money’s worth out of things before I trade it in or upgrade. Take my first cell phone for example, a motorola v60i. I had that sucker for over four years despite it’s many little issues and it’s increasing poor reception. I didn’t cave and buy a new cellphone until it died and could not be revived. I also dislike spending huge sums of money on things because they’re “new”. i have a tendency to wait until the price comes down or that I’m certain all glitches have been found. Still haven’t gotten a Nintendo DS, mp3 player/ipod, or a Wii because I can’t see spending that much money on a product. Of course anime seems to be the exception here.
And now for my tagged. I tag Julie, Miranda, Karyn, Shasta, Mari, Kate, Maria, and Cody.

I’ve hated my own writing a few times and even destroyed the lot years ago. Vey stoooooopid thing to do but it felt right at the mmoment. Just leave it be for a while. You might want to go back to it, but even if you never do it’s still part of you.
Mahalo for playing! Nicely done!
