Poetry BlackBlack it envelopes me. Black its my way of life. Black its no mere obsession. For black is night and white is day. Then mark my skin in day and bundle me into the night. Let its inky calm guide the tender lamb away. The night holds the many dangers close to its breast never tipping to the foe. By day, you hold the thoughts the many dreams and fleeting hopes of innocents and demures. What are you to the hunter but a smorgasboard of prey? Turn away Oh gentel day clothed in nights you'll be; sweet and oh so succulant protected by that which you fear. Rose-hued lenses you need not merely night shall do. Black it envelopes me. Black its my way of life. Black its no mere obsession. * I take my inspiration where I can get it ^_^ And now the story of the poem's birth. I was sitting down atempting to read the notes for my JPNS 111 class when this girl sat down next to me and just started chatting away. Being the oh-so friendly and amiable person I am I ignored her. After awhile she started poking me in my side, an atempt to get my attention methinks, I turned to her and was fixing to get really angry, I mean I was trying to study after all. The first words out of the girl's mouth were: "What are you hiding from?" I actually just sat there and looked at her completely baffled at this girl's audacity to talk to me while I'm trying to study and then accuse me of being cowardly. To make a long story short the girl's name was Aileen and she's a Psych major, go figure. Apparently my appearence in no way matches up with my attitude, in other words I am sterotypically inncorrect, and thus I am hiding *shrugs* Yeah I didn't really follow it myself. Admist all this psyc-chatter she says I remind her of an Aerosmith song, Pink, only not really. So now you know the circumstances that birthed this particular poem re-read it and laugh, thats what I did anyway. Laughed the entire time I wrote it. Or did I? Please Leave a Review
