Warning: Morbid.
Author's Notes: Rather morbid spin off of "Jack and Jill". Hans Christen Anderson's fairytales were a lot more violent and interesting then their Disney re-makes. So I thought why not goof around with a nursery rhyme or two. See if you can figure out what these kids are enacting during their "playtime".
Play Time
by Joana Rodriguez
a.k.a Lady Dragon
Three little kids go up the hill one comes back down to pick a flower. A second comes down to gather some sticks and stone. On their way up they gather lose vines to use to bind their findings. Together they climb back up the hill, their burdens evenly distributed between them. The sounds of hands clawing at dirt are nearly drowned out by the louder bangs of two objects meeting; one coming down on top of another. When the sun begins to set two little kids come down the hill, hands clasped in front of them in solemn prayer.
The day has ended, and play time is over.
Alright who guessed funeral? Give yourself 12 brownie points if you guessed correctly. Is the third child dead, or alive you ask? Well I'll let you decide.
