Below you will find all the information you might want to know about the current and past
layouts of Memory Shrine.
Version 5.0
Current Layout. A long-awaited new layout for MS at last! I wanted a layout that had more
eye-pleasing graphics, a little bit dark and a little bit cute, and maintained the
simplicity of navigation featured in version 4.0. To be honest, it came out better than
anticipated.
Coded using Cute FTP
Header, navigation/content background, and graphics created with Adobe Photoshop CS4
Fonts used were MEgalopolis Extra, Freestyle Script, and Gerogia
Version 4.0
With this layout I wanted to return to an easy to use and find navigation system like I had
with Version 2.0. For me, I've always prefered that sites with multiple pages of content be
orgnized with an easy navigation bar that lists out it versus subpages with links. I also
stepped away from using splash pages with this layout. This layout stayed up for years
(literally) and was re-worked from time to time before being retired.

Fonts used were Impact and Arial
Text in header is from the poem "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" by Emily Dickinson
Version 3.0
I decided to dablble with the much adored pop up layout and I even got to utilize
transparent scrollbars and frames for the first time. For the image I was going for a
stained glass affect to give it a church-esque feel. Despite the long period of time that
this layout stayed up I wasn't too proud of it.

well for lack of a better word . . cute. ^^ plus I've never amde a
layout before with this shade of purple and so many hearts!

Version 1.0
When I created this layout I was striving for a look that could be categorized as medieval gothic, but had a semblance of respect. As I was struggling for inspiration a friend suggested we go persuing a graveyard and see if there where any statues that inspired me. While we were there I saw a grave for this little boy who had died about six months ago. His tombstone was simple yet elegant. A beautiful gray/white marble tombstone and where the deication and his name was inscripted the stone was a solid gray allowing the letters to better stand out. Something about the simplicty of this marker made me wish to somehow imitate it.
Marble background made with Paint Shop Pro and much advice from Leslie.
