A/n: The first of its kind to be posted! Yes! It's a Kazu+Alice! I think they would actually make a nice couple. This is a one-shot, and so it's only going to be a one chapter fic.

I doubt I'm actually going to get a review on this story. And I also doubt in the first place, that someone is going to read this. I mean think about it, if someone liked this couple they would have written a story already. *scraches head* But I suppose there is a first for everything, right? *sweatdrops*

Ok, now PLEASE read and review. All I'm asking, is a review. Suggestions and (nice) comments are always encouraging. Flames will be used to burn evil teachers *grins*.

Ice Cream

Ice Cream:

She walked down the street, her black and gray attire standing out in the newly warm spring. The trees which she walked under casted moving shades on her as she continued with a plain, yet happy expression on her face.

Sixteen year old Alice didn't bother to pay attention to the things around her. She walked briskfuly down the path. It was years since the her experience with Dobermon. She had learned to open up more, but still, she was quite, and didn't like talking to others as much.

The park was almost vacant and only a scarse number of people walked by. The park, in her opinion, had least changed throughout the years; still having its special beauty. The sun which played around at afternoon, shined bright and welcoming rays.

Alice still missed Dobermon and would often even remember the soft touch of his fur when they were to together. Over at the beginning she hated having a four legged monster fallow her around and worst off work with. But as time did go on, her hatred turned into an undying friendship.

She sighed his name looking out to blue white cotton sky. As Alice continued to walk, she spotted a stairway she usually saw the Tamers spend their time at. Tamers.

If it were the last thing to do, it was to see them again. She grumbled and continued to walk. Alice knew that it was because of them he left her. But it wasn't right for her to blame them either. It was the cruelty of fate. Dobermon came to help the Tamers, and that was his only purpose.

Continuing to walk the long way home, a light breeze flapped her pigtailed blond hair in the sky.

CRASH!

It wasn't a garbage can kind of crash. Instead a crash as if someone was hit against something. Even though Alice was capable of handling situations like this, she knew not to get into any of it. But she couldn't help feel something was wrong.

Alice turned around quickly about to walk away quickly when she heard yelling and then footstep of running coming towards her. She turned to face it but soon regreted it. Before she knew it a boy came dashing towards her.

Unnoticed he bumped into her in such a way that they were caught in an light embrace. She didn't know who it was, but did remember before closing her eyes and being hit, a muffle of light brown hair.

The boy had no time to act and so jumped, still holding Alice, into the bushes that were near by. As a crowd of other boys passed them, the boy turned towards the girl he layed on top of, ready to apologize when his eyes got the best of him.

"Alice?"

She opened her eyes at the call of her name to found them to a deep brown. She couldn't believe who he was, and shuttered when she said his name.

"K-kazu?"

It was the same Kazu who she hadn't seen since they were young. It was the same Kazu that spilled the glue over her head in kindergarden. The same Kazu who copied her answers in first grade. The same Kazu who placed a frog in her lanchbag. And now he was laying on top of her?!

"Nice meeting you like this." He said grinning as he got up. And then looking at her. "And now."

A tint of redness covered her cheeks as she stood up. Kazu helped her out of the bushes as then looked at her as if he was observing her, walking around her in circles.

"What are you doing?" she asked him in an uncomfertable tone.

"Checking you out." He said with a finger on his chin and eyes trailing up and down her body. Her cheeks turned back to a light pink as she stammered of, walking, or rather stomping, away.

"Hey, wait! What did I do?" he asked fallowing her.

"You're still the same! Annoying, a flirt, and a big... BIG JERK!" she yelled at him as he stood next to her. Yelling was one of those things she didn't do much of. But in this case things could have gone haywired for all she cared.

Alice vowed never to see Kazu again for all the tricks he played on her when they were young-

"That I am." He said with a smirk abviously not effected by her dissing

She grumbled and walked away.

"Aww, come on! I'm sorry, babe!" Kazu said and ran after her.

-and for all the nicknames.

Soon after, Kazu was still on Alice's tail. They ran through the park, and to much to her defeat, he was catching up to her.

"What do you want?" she asked finally stopping for a breath of air.

"Man, for a girl, you sure can run long distenceses." He said as he flopped onto the ground and letting out a long sigh.

For the moment as if time stopped she looked at him. She was wrong, he had changed. His hair was the same, but he was taller. His whole style of clothing changed as well; sky blue buttoning t-shirt with a white shirt under and his visor was gone.

Kazu noticed her stare at him.

"What ya staring at?" he said grinning.

She blinked and then turned away. "N-nothing."

"Oh don't deny it. I know you were captivated by my looks." He said striking a pose.

She let a small snort. She wasn't as rude anyone in her life as she was to Kazu, but she had her reason, reasons she found she was going to choke him for doing. Suddenly she felt being pinned to the ground.

Alice's breath was caught in her throat as she noticed how close Kazu's face was to hers. She gulped.

"Gotchya." He said smirking.

"If you don't get off me now I'll call this rape and you'll be hated all around." She said in a cool voice.

"You wouldn't."

"Would you like a demonstration?" she asked him.

He got off and folded his arms. "Sheesh."

She smiled at her success and got up dusting of her black dress. Without a goodbye she left the boy with his thoughts on the ground behind. But before she could get far he stood up and hollered.

"Hey babe!" he called after her.

Alice took a sharp turn and glared at him.

"Wanna go for some ice cream?" Kazu asked out of the blue.

She didn't expect that. She thought he was going to call her names, or run after her again; she was one of his tricking targets.

"Why don't you go with you're friends?" she asked as she turned away.

He shrugged. "They're all busy."

She turned back to him, and stared at for awhile. "What are you trying to pull, Kazu?"

He blinked a few times. "What me? Why whould I be doing anything to YOU?" he said with a smile, which Alice clearly saw through.

She smiled. She couldn't help it let out. Smiling? I'm smiling?! She said to herself.

"Fine, lets go." She said. Kazu grinned gingerly, stood up, and then ran to her side.

She couldn't understand why she was doing this. Kazu did change in a way. And he's not half bad now, she smiled again at the thought.

"Man, Alice. That's the second smile today! Are you feeling okay?" he asked her and laughing a bit after it.

She forced a straight face. "Let's just go."

They walked the rest of the way in silence. Kazu needed to break the silence somehow. But he couldn't put a finger on it. Come on Kazu! You're losing her! How are you supposed to win her heart like this?! He yelled to himself.

Winning her heart was sure a hard task. At first Kazu didn't even know why he really liked her. But then again, how could have he forgotten?

// He sat there on the ground, his knee scratched. He couldn't remember the last time a scratch hurted SO much. The tears of pain filled his eyes. He scanned the playground for Kenta, his wet eyes blurry a bit.

But he wouldn't find him at a time like this. They were playing hide and seek. And Kenta would have never came out until Kazu forfitted, which he wasn't going to do. Four year old Kazu clenched his knee at the verge of crying, when he heard a soft yet nice voice from behind.

"Awe you okay?" he turned around finding a girl with blond pigtails, sharp blue eyes, dressed into a white and gray dress. She was probably around his age. He blinked his tears away while wondering if she was a fallen angel like from the books he tried to read.

"Are you a fallen angel?" he asked staring at her with a certain eyes wide stare. She smiled, and shook her head.

"No, I'm not. What about you?" she ask him giggling a bit. He laughed shaking his head. When he tried to get up he remembered the now bleedin cut.

The girl gasped. "Oh my god! Your beeding!" she said putting up a hand up to her mouth.

Kazu laughed sheepishly. "Yeah I guess I am."

The girl pushed Kazu gentally down in a sitting postion so she could examine the cut. And then smiling looked back at Kazu who blushed, being captivated by her eyes.

She moved her dress up a little reveiling a bandaged knee. "I get hurt a lot too. So," she stopped and took out a spair bandage from her pocket. "I cawwy extwas. Here, ywou cwan use one."

The girl bent down and placed it gentally onto his knee. "There you go!" she said happily. Kazu blinked and then stood up. The hurt was latterly gone and he was able to walk some what.

But none the less it still hurt and he tipped over about to fall face flat when he felt a hand hold his shoulders back. He looked up and could barely smell the scent of grapes coming from the girl.

"Mmm, you smell like grapes." He said. She giggled and again his heart went wild. //

It was love at first site. He could still remember the soft giggles she had given him that day. It was like a movie repeating over and over again in his head, a good movie.

He decided to give the air a sniff, wondering if it was possible to smell the lush of the grapes he had smelled that day. He took in a deep breath.

"Mmm, you smell like grapes." He said softly smiling at her.

Her head snapped in his direction with a wide eyes glance. "What did you say?" she ask.

"Nothing!" he answered back quickly, looking away.

Alice didn't remember that faithful day, or atleast didn't know the boy she helped was Kazu. Back when she started to attend to his school, he would have walked up to her and said hi. But her special "glow" was gone. He didn't know where it went or how it was gone, it was just...gone.

Then, he started to believe that, that girl was now gone. And there he was also getting to believe that "all girls have cooties" statement. But really deap in his heart he still held that memory. It was now seeing her years later brought it back out in the open.

Finally after minutes of walking, the due made it to the ice cream parlor. It was small yet had tables scattered around it. Kazu and Alice order their ice cream and payed for them.

Alice licked her strawberry vallina swirl, abtrosuvely quite, pondering. Kazu observed her and also licked his chocolate mint sprinkle cone, licking it continuessly. They sat there in silence yet again. The silence is SO...argh...I can't even find a word to describe it! Something better happen soon, or I'll scream... he muttered to himself.

All of a sudden she broke into a misfit of giggles. Kazu glanced at her at her sudden outburst. Her giggles still had that something that he fell in love with.

"What? What's so funny?" he asked her. She continued to laugh. Seeing her laughs these days was really rare. He didn't know what was so funny or what she found so amusing.

Finally after she got some control still with small giggles here and there she answered him clutching her ice cream cone. "You have ice cream on your nose!"

He didn't know what reason he blushed on; the fact that she was smilng and giggling or the fact he just made a total fool of himself. Quickly grasping the napkin that was on the table he whipped the frozen dairy produst off his nose.

Alice leaned back laughing joyfully and as Kazu noted her cheeks a very light dash of pink.

"You know," she said finally the laughing dying down "you remind me of this boy I meet when I was four."

Kazu suddenly stared at her with interest like a lightbulb that had been donw for a long time finally worked. She does remember! He happily sang in thought.

"Really?" he asked her leaning towards her, his eyes questioning.

"Yeah, he was sweet and funny. And I met him in the park," She laughed a bit, looking at something aimlessly. "but I never saw him after that. I wish I had gotten his name atleast." She said sadly trailing off.

"Did you like him?" he had to get as much as information as he could get before telling her whom the boy was.

She sat there thinking for awhile. "I guess, yeah." She said looking to the sky.

Kazu grinned even more. He leaned in and then whispered. "Well my fallen angel, I know you're going to find him soon." With that he sat back in his chair waiting for a response.

She sighed. "I hope I do bec-" she stopped and looked at him. "Wait. Did you just call me 'fallen angel'?"

He nodded grinning.

She gasped and her eyes went wide. "You're the boy, aren't you?" she asked him.

"Yeps." He said as he opened his eyes.

Alice continued to stare and then her eyes turned hard stone. She got up and before turning away spoke what might have been the last of what she was ever going to say to him. "I never want to talk to you again."

She turned her heals and left him there until he finally relized what happened. "Wait, Alice!" he dashed after her for it may have been his only chance to set things straight.

The sun started setting behind the trees leaving the sky a hue of orange and red. The clouds were thin and crytal like, just like the tears in Alice's eyes. She was desperetly trying not to cry, but she couldn't stop them from building up.

She couldn't believe the guy she liked from young age was right in front of her! And then worst of all, she just told him! She hated Kazu so much at the moment. But really she was blaming herself for not recognizing him.

She felt a hand grab hers and then she was spun around right towards Kazu's concerned and determined look. She hadn't seen him like this before and it provided her one more reason why she should turn away and run. But she didn't.

He brought up a hand to her cheek and then wiped the tear away. The grip on his hand loosened. Alice stepped back and ran. But again, Kazu's grip was stiffened.

"Just hear me out, ok?" he said to her.

"There's nothing to talk about Kazu, whatever happened, happened." Her voice was harsh and cold. He winced a bit.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, you just seemed different that day when you came into school. But," he moved closer.

"I never did stop liking you." Seeing Kazu like this was an acward thing. He was always a "romance hater, action figher" type of guy. But Alice did have to tell herself that people change through history of time.

"Kazu," she was shocked to hear him say he still liked her. "You st-still like me?"

His head lowered a bit, and she could feel his breath on her cheeks. Slowly the small insy gap between them vanished and Alice felt a warm pair of lips against hers. It was light and yet soft an experience none of them were ever going to forget.

After a short mimute he moved back, rather resisting. Kazu opened his eyes to see Alice stay there eyes softened.

"Does that answer your question?" he said grinning. She nodded a little. They staired into each other eyes, like they were watching a romance story they were at the verge of crying.

"Heh, don't you just hate mushy romances?" he said chuckling a bit. Alice who regained back her current situation, hit his arm playfully, smiling at the same time.

Kazu grinned even more, then interwined his fingers with her.

"Remember when I got hurt? And then you helped me? It was our first meeting." He told her. She nodded as they continued to walk down the path of the park.

"What ever happened to Kenta?"

"I left him in the park. And then he was mad at me for a whole week." And the laughed.

As they continued to walk two ghost like children watched them go.

"Finally," one of them said.

"It took them awhile..." the other one said.

"Come on, Alice. Lets go play."

"Okay!"
